My thoughts on Bush's Inaugural
Full Transcript

Due to copyrights, I simply wrote down my thoughts as they came while I was reading the transcript. Sorry if it's hard to follow, but I don't want to get n00ked by the mods for quoting every other paragraph.

Hmm...if you're talking about bringing freedom to Iraq there, isn't it kind of contradictory to be bringing freedom through martial law and curfews? Oops, that's right, you thought we were going to be greeted by flowers...

Ironic that there are going to be curfews on Iraqi Election Day, too. Yeah, some freedom you're expanding there. Maybe we should learn how to count our own ballots first (FL 2000, now WA and OH 2004):eyes:

Only those who haven't been born yet have rights. If you're already born, we'll just throw you to the wolves...or better yet, bomb you.

Uh, Mr. President, we were the last industrialized nation to abolish slavery, and unlike more civilized nations such as Britain, we had to fight a civil war to do it. You need to go back to school and brush up on history.

So if Iraq elects an ultratheocratic government, will we just pack up and leave? Somehow I doubt it.:eyes:

Well, Mr. President, since you ran your re-election campaign on "Christian values," time to crack open that Bible you swore the oath of office on. (For the record, I have NIV.) Specifically, Mr. President, you will want to look at Luke 6:41-42:

Quote:
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, "Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye, when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

Hmmm...most of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay still have not even had a hearing to determine if there is enough (or for that matter, any) evidence to justify holding them incommunicado. Might this be the plank in your eye, Mr. President? Keep that in mind when talking about oppression.

If the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul, why do they hate us for our freedoms?

Regarding his message to "fellow citizens:"

Trying some recruitment tricks because Army recruiters are having difficulties with tough questions about stop-loss? Declining enlistments got you down? Are you trying to avoid having to spend your political capital on the draft by smooth-talking us young people now? I'm not gonna fall for it. Sorry.

Oh, and I'll believe your "uniter" platitudes when you actually admit you made a mistake to a Democrat. Your inability to admit a mistake is why so many hate you with such fury.

3. What about the response from "Lord High Protector"?!
Is that serious? It must have been a comedy routine. If or it was serious, then that person is seriously delusional (or just voted Republican).
