I heard Colin Powell's son Michael is stepping down from head of FCC
I also read yesterday that Michael Powell opened up two investigations into Payola involving Armstrong Williams.

Weird timing huh? Colin Powell is pushed out for not being neo con enough, and I'm sure Michael Powell can't be neo con enough for the crazies either, and stepping down actually means pushed out.

1. I heard Michael was leaving the FCC too
I read it on the Atrios blog just a few minutes ago. I honestly didn't see this one coming. It seems like he's a good fit with the neocons but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, I'm glad to see him go.

10. First, I am in awe of your work
Secondly, I can't wait to see what you do with Powell when we find out why he's resigning.

I bet a nickle he knows all about the payola to the ConRags, and is slip sliding away before the hammer falls.

13. i think thats much of the problem
while all this is going on he is worried about Janet's tit and Howard's butt joke from like 2001.

um one of the Dem members of the committee was on Randi Rhodes the other day before his resignation and was saying that they were going to launch a full investigation into the payola thing and was wondering why this wasn't being looked into before and Randi was mentioning all the above.

Now i saw the the hearings back when all this bull went down about raising fines and setting limits and there was uprising from "the people" about that. most people didn't want the regulations and didn't want Powell policing the airwaves. the Dem's were fighting HIM Like crazy. but he said it didn't matter what the people thought. so he put the largest fines ever against broadcasters.

that was the first time i ever watched Cspan for any longer then 3 minutes i got hooked after that. i couldn't believe what i was seeing.
