1. good question....
How about Athism myths?
Q: Hitler was an athist?
A: No. He considered himself and evangelical Catholic. Like many of the Dems who did not vote for Kerry in the last election since the bishop told them it was a sin...

2. Beware of the Overactive Thread Movers!
How do they decide what gets moved and what stays where it is? I believe that it is often arbitrary, and depends on their mood, and who's shift it is. Or it could be some obsessive people hitting the Alert on anything that looks to be out of category. By the way, shouldn't this thread be in ATA?

6. Good point
And this thread will be locked I'm sure. I was really frustrated and irritated by this decision and posted before I thought about it.

Man, the thread was even still civil. How disappointing.

3. I guess not
the thread was moved to the religion group. I guess if it was moved to the atheism agnostic group it wouldn't provoke a good discussion.

To answer your original question when I hear atheist I think of:
A free, independent rational mind. Or I think of myself. ;-)

4. You know, I'm actually not so crazy about the new organization
of this board.
It seems like lots of good, interesting subjects get shuffled off to obscure forums that few pay attention to, then die a death of neglect. One of the reasons I came here in the first place was because this board moves so fast.
Just my opinion.

5. More than that though...
...I was interested in the thoughts of a wide range of DUers, not just those who are religiously motivated enough to post on Religion and Theology. And anyway, atheism is neither a religion nor part of theology, so it seems really out of place to move it to that particular board.
