Forget about the candidates. Is Financial Disclosure fair game?
My argument that it is: Halliburton. Bechtel. KB&R.

Forget the candidates, please. Please discuss the merits and importance of the disclosure of this information. Thank you.

1. It is but ....
when does it stop? Like Rational Rose said, she can't run for office because of the way her 401K is diversified (good one RR).

The issue is whether a person uses it for financial gain a-la Cheney.

If I own 1000 shares of Bob's Pharmacuticals and the company becomes the sole supplier of AIDS medication for Africa after some shady dealings, I think the stock should be dumped.

If I own 1000 shares of Bob's Pharmacuticals and I write and pass pass amendments in the House for the company to be the sole supplier of AIDS medication for Africa, then there's an issue.

2. It's only an issue if there is an issue
Manufactured issues aren't issues.

3. Yes. Finances are where you find hard evidence for corruption. (n/t)

4. Thank you.
Nothing to do with evilness. Just being an informed voter.

7. Agreed.
Follow the money. It's not always a bad thing but it bears watching.
