on Pennsylvania and 14th. We didn't get through the checkpoints......they shut 'em down......... so we were crammed behind security fences. We were banging on the fence and chanting "This is not democracy!" & "Let us In!" Some guys started taking apart the paneled fence and the cops sprayed us with pepper spray. At first I thought it was water......it comes out very misty, then I started choking and gagging. The guys that got the brunt of it really suffered..........their eyes looked like they were foaming! Scary incident. There was a flag burning, too...some guys took a flag from in front of a hotel, climbed up on something and set it on fire. Lots of rage! Lots of anger! The cops were dressed like Star Wars stormtroopers (tho' in black).

My overall impression was that the security was not necessarily terrorist related....................a lot of it was to keep us out!!
