Norwegians Confused by Bush Salute
01/21/05 12:51

Upon arriving at the new century of international diplomacy and an understanding of other cultures than our own, I would think that President Bush should develop his skills in symbolic gestures which may be interpreted differently as originally intended. This, of course, would require a full staff of those who would obligate their time to advise the President of possible “inter-cultural” sensitivities which he would need to be counseled upon before even “twitching” a finger.

“OSLO, Norway (AP) - President Bush's ``Hook 'em, 'horns'' salute got lost in translation in Norway, where shocked people interpreted his hand gesture during his inauguration as a salute to Satan.

That's what it means in the Nordics when you throw up the right hand with the index and pinky fingers raised, a gesture popular among heavy metal groups and their fans in the region.

``Shock greeting from Bush daughter,'' a headline in the Norwegian Internet newspaper Nettavisen said above a photograph of Bush's daughter Jenna, smiling and showing the sign.

For Texans, the gesture is a sign of love for the University of Texas Longhorns, whose fans are known to shout out ``Hook 'em, 'horns!'' at sporting events.

3. It sure ain't University of Texas!

They flat out rejected his student application in 1970 and told him they had "standards".

What we are seeing here is the Illuminati feeling so comfortable that they no longer feel a need to hide.

14.  Yes. It's a well known Illuminati salute. * wouldn't suddenly start

flashing a college anything. If they are saying they are saluting U of A or whatever the Texas Longhorns are, I would consider that another one of their sick lies.

I saw the last half of the movie 1984 early this morning. Chilling.

5. It really is a sign for University of Texas.
Hook 'em horns! (Longhorns)

But, I'm not sure what if any connection Dubya HAS to University of Texas, except that he appointed Tom Hicks to be the fella, back when Bush was Governor, to rape and loot a bucket of bucks, in the billions of dollars, owned by UT (UTIMCO).

Hicks was the fella who first made Dubya a millionnaire, when Hicks bought the Texas Rangers baseball team, and Dubya turned a less-than-a $MILLION investment (a loan) into $14+ million.

Hicks also is a major director/shareholder of Clear Channel Communications. Hicks is a Dallas billionnaire who also just happened to have been one of the venture capital investors in.....

.....

wait for it.....

.....

Hart InterCivic. The company that counts votes in Austin, Houston, Ft. Worth, and other places.

Houston is the largest city in the state with the second largest batch of electoral votes - strategic, eh?

He's one of them there fancy-pants New Englanders, by birth.

Funny, he's the only Bush with an accent. What a phony.

2. It seems like they are using it alot since the elections.
If they were careful before and are now using it they must feel they have a mandate for it.

is nothing more than a double barreled booger flicker.

Why would or should other nations care about some damn university in Hicksville (Bush having ties to the school besides the point)? Once AGAIN! a boorish, culturally ILLITERATE American making an ass of himself aboard.

8. Hey now, don't go bashin' UT...
It ain't podunk and it ain't Hicksville. It's 40,000 students in the middle of the most liberal city in Texas. It ain't UT's fault Bush wants to play Texan.

13. Doesn't it strike anyone as curious that he would use a gesture
that is a symbol for a school that rejected him?? (UofT Law School)

Besides, he is supposed to be the pResident of the ENTIRE United States, not just Texas and certianly not a particular university in Texas.

19. Why?
This is the second time that you have come after me on this. I don't really care what you do. You aren't the president.

Seems you have an ax to grind. Lay off.

16. You have to know that Bush would know that he is using the sign of Satan
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 06:35 PM by OutsourceBush
He has to know that people will take it as that, if only half of the people take it that way. Coming from a supposed "Christian" president, that would make no sense what so ever. A real Christian would not take the chance of people confusing him using the sign of Satan. You therefore are left with the cold hard fact that he is doing it on purpose and is indeed showing his allegiance to Satan.

Hail Satan, the anti-Christ has come, elected by deceived Christians as it was written in the Bible.

Austin is NOT hicksville, USA. In fact, Austin is one of the more liberal areas in Texas.

21. The Norwegians are confused by Bush
Salute or not :D

About that salute, BTW:
He, as a Christian, should be more aware of the signal it sends to the world. Especially when his politics is so clearly evil and beastly.
Us simple people up north can't cope with too much of this hand-gestures any longer. I mean, for chrissake, what secret evil is this sign supposed to stand for?

One can only guess.
