Bush Caught Empty-Handed During Church Offering -- Daddy Bails Him Out.
Bush Caught Cashless At Church

It happened during Friday's national prayer service in Washington.

Vice President Dick Cheney quickly offered some cash.

However, Bush refused and instead accepted help from his dad, former President George H.W. Bush.

4. no wallet??
President George W. Bush, who rarely carries a wallet, is caught empty-handed when the offering plate came around during a church service.

Rarely carries a wallet!? What kind of grown workingman -- esepcially the "leader" of the "free world" -- doesn't carry a wallet??

Something is bizarre here.

7. I don't believe Presidents ever carry wallets, or cash...or keys.
It's just the way they live in that bubble for the length of their term.

15. Your right
If my memory serves me right, Presidents don't carry anything in their pockets. I believe Clinton got caught short a couple of times because of that fact.

5. This could be his "scanner moment"
like when Poppy tried to show what a regular guy he was by doing his own grocery shopping.

He hadn't done it in so long it was before they had scanners at the checkouts. He asked out loud what it was... :dunce:

Perhaps this is an indication of how long it's been since Mr. God Chose Me To Be Pretzeldent actually goes to church??

17. Bingo Kama!
You could see the look of terror in Georgie's face when he realized what that shiny bowl was for.

14. I was going to mention the "stiffed tip" bit
I wonder where that waitress is now.

Didn't she initially get a lot of RW "donors"? I wonder if she actually got any $$ from them . . . or if they "rewarded" her for the negative publicity with a radio gig?

16. Watch Pickles VERY closely during this whole episode
You get a real glimpse into her inner "character" when she tries to smuggle the first buck into Georgie's hand, unseen. Ma Barker eat your heart out, Barbara's a natural criminal.

18. Well, Pickles was supposed the 'go-to gal' for pot purchases…
…so she'd surely have some experience in surreptitious money-handling. :)

21. This is a very small thing
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 02:53 AM by Heaven and Earth
Given all his mistakes, bad policies, and outright lies, I think forgetting to bring cash to church is the very least of Bush's sins. I know that I have done the same thing before. I just made sure to give more the next week.

I have to say, that I personally would love it if I had an underling who was always ready with a tip or whatever if I ran short. That would be really sweet.
