Read this sentence very, very carefully and tell me what the hell is wrong with it. And with this piece of shit that masquerades as a newspaper.

"In his first inaugural address since 9-11, the president who has waged war against terrorism saluted freedom."

Folks, I've had to give up on this newspaper--I found this copy in the breakroom at work. I have started reading the Raleigh News and Observer, which is a decent paper, nothing at all like the local rag that puts stories about fundamentalists who run soup kitchens on the front page, above the fold, and that runs Glenn McCoy's freeperous and badly-drawn editorial "cartoon."

3. That's the editorial board.. My old home town paper has slid to the right
However... Pat Reese died and many of the old Dems that did not flee to the GOP when the schools integrated have died or fled like me.

Still there is some hope, the county voted around 49% bush and 45% Kerry. This is with several hundred thousand military and retired military voters and a huge volume of absentee ballots from Iraq and Afganistan.

Many of the locals can identify the "Holy Rollers" in their neighborhoods but are too polite to point out when the act like fascist theocrats.

My sister has to act like a normal redneck moron and cover her books with book covers made from old romance novels to keep her low paying job in semi rural cumberland county nowdays. Thge only place safe to be a "Liberal" is the ballot box.

4. How embarrassing for you.
I was going to say have my local paper instead, but it's only somewhat better: http://www.durangoherald.com/asp-bin/article_generation.asp?article_type=opin&article_path=/opinion/opin050121.htm
