Boys and girls, Cuba's next
I've had this feeling since before Iraq got invaded. shrub is too much of a coward to attack a strong country like Iran or North Korea.
Plus shrub will claim Fidel is causing trouble in South America (re Chavez). Not only that, if he invades a strong country there will have to be a full out draft, and only the Rapture crowd will go for that, until their sons and daughters start dying in large numbers.

2. No, it all depends on the health of Fidel Castro.
They're chomping at the bit and will be ready to go when "it" happens. But not until then. There are multiple scenarios and they're ready for the inevitable.

4. That occured to me too
He seemed to be directing his remarks in that awful speech right at Castro.

I don't believe it would be an attack with troops but I think he has Cuba in his sights.

5. Cuba has to be thrilled to be buffered from the influx of Americans due to
ideoligical differences. Don't you think? Sooner or later, I hope the rest of the world weighs in and tells us to chill the fck out.

7. Let me make this statement now: I would defend Cuba if able.
Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 12:11 AM by JanMichael
I suspect it would become much like the Spanish revolution, sorry, Civil War, and there'd be an International Brigade of volunteers there to fight Fascism.

Not a pretty situation.

8. If Stupid has his eye on Cuba
he better wait until Fidel is dead. Otherwise Fidel will put a bullet in his head. Actually, where Stupid is concerned, if Fidel really did decide to blow the little bastard's brains out, he'd need to shit him in the ass.

11. He'll need an "Operation Northwoods"...
Operation Northwoods

National Security Archive, 30 April 2001
Centre for Research on Globalisation (CRG), globalresearch.ca, 16 November 2001

http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/NOR111A.html

In his new exposé of the National Security Agency entitled Body of Secrets, author James Bamford highlights a set of proposals on Cuba by the Joint Chiefs of Staff codenamed OPERATION NORTHWOODS. This document, titled “Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba” was provided by the JCS to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara on March 13, 1962, as the key component of Northwoods. Written in response to a request from the Chief of the Cuba Project, Col. Edward Lansdale, the Top Secret memorandum describes U.S. plans to covertly engineer various pretexts that would justify a U.S. invasion of Cuba. These proposals - part of a secret anti-Castro program known as Operation Mongoose - included staging the assassinations of Cubans living in the United States, developing a fake “Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington,” including “sink a boatload of Cuban refugees (real or simulated),” faking a Cuban airforce attack on a civilian jetliner, and concocting a “Remember the Maine” incident by blowing up a U.S. ship in Cuban waters and then blaming the incident on Cuban sabotage. Bamford himself writes that Operation Northwoods “may be the most corrupt plan ever created by the U.S. government.”

The Declassified document can be consulted at:
