Chris Matthews Show this weekend - Lincoln may have been gay
My wife had the TV on this morning tuned to the tweedy show, I got up and went and took a shower.
When I returned, I asked her if she had enough of them yet, She said she wanted to hear the story they were going to have about the Lincoln bedroom.
I couldn't believe it when they went into detail how they had concluded that Lincoln may have been bisexual if not gay.
My wife commented that they have run out of things to talk about to which I said, they had some motive for a comment like that, I just am not sure what.

I looked for transcripts to todays show but only found the text below.
at http://www.thechrismatthewsshow.com/whatson.html
Todays show was not in the transcripts yet - 2 week delay.

1. I think I stand for a lot of people when I say...
Who the @#$% cares?

(Not attacking the poster, I'm attacking the way that the media is carrying the story)

6. Does that mean the repukes will kick Lincoln out of the party posthumously
Maybe they are trying to find a way to change the Lincoln Memorial to the Ronald Reagan Memorial or the Bush Memorial?

7. So are you saying that John Wilkes Booth was .....
...... acing under the orders of Revs. Dobson and Phelps? After all Mr. Booth was an actor and you know actors are gay was he really Abe's lover and working for the neo
cons and the People for the American Way. How else could have Booth gotten so close to Lincoln? I smell Karl Rove's great great great grandfather all over this. Old
Zachary Rove. It all make sense now!

8. It functions to make scholars appear to side with liberal/GLBT agendas
Lincoln is the cornerstone of the repuke party historically. Any slight of this hero will be seen as an attack on all. Thus by claiming he was gay/bi it will be seen as a battle cry for the right to counter intellectual excess and the supposed gay agenda.

10. they hate Lincoln
if Abe is a hero to anyone, it's dems and libs etc....and obviously black america....you may be right about the schemeing of the repukes, but only recently freepers were hammering Lincoln for his violations of the constitution during civil war. If the repukes have a hero it's Clement Valladigham, a Ohio pol who tried to help the south until one day Lincoln 'deported' the goof, throwing him across the line into southern territory....Valladigham had to literally go around the world (New Orleans to England to Canada) before he could sneak across the border many moons later (lol)...Abe left him alone after that, as the south was clearly doomed by then....

9. He did have a high-pitched voice
not the Paul Robsonesque voice attributed to him by filmmakers.

11. Sharing a bed was not unusual
for either sex. No central heating.

However, one of Lincoln's male friends described his thighs as perfect. Would a heterosexual male say this?
