MoveOn PAC Plan to Win Back Congress
https://www.moveonpac.org/donate/2006.html

In 1994, just two years after a big Presidential defeat, Republicans with a pro-corporate, right-wing agenda swept to power in the House. From there, they gained control of all three branches of government. 2006 should be our 1994: if we can convert the passion and energy of the progressive movement into power on the ground, we can take back Congress and create a watershed moment for America in 2006. Today, we’re launching our big plan to do just that. Together, MoveOn members will build an organized grassroots campaign on the ground in every Congressional district to stop the Bush agenda and win back the House. Changing the political direction of the country will not be cheap. In order to begin hiring staff, developing materials and advertisements, and choosing districts for extra effort, we need to raise $500,000 this week. Can you help?

I donated $100 tonight.

1. Fuck them man they didn't do anything right this time
so I'll never support them again instead I'll just shoot myself in the foot and abandon all the infrastructure we've built over the last year and wallow in my own anger and misplaced feelings of abandonment they'll never get another dime from me I'm never voting again.

How 'bout dat?

2. It's debatble whether their 2004 GOTV changed outcomes, but
if not, it needs to be bigger for 2006.

4. Oh, I was just kidding.
I appreciate their efforts in 2004 and wish them luck in their plans for future elections. I was just mocking some of the, shall we call them "overreactionaries" around here.

6. It was the Democrats who lacked a will to fight.
Kerry's back peddling..On many issues I thought he might even be Bush.....My crucial issues...He conceded so early with the Ohio issue, I wonder if he really wanted to be elected..
Move On got more money from us than the Democrats..That is how it will be next time...Move On knows how to fight Rove...Thank god someone does..

7. 1994 was just the last act
Gingrich had been throwing rocks at the Democratic leadership for 10 years and had already brought down one speaker. Where's our mad bomber in the House who can bring us Delay's head on a pike?

12. The problem is the Democrats are responsible.
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 01:46 PM by cyclezealot
Move On needs teach them how to fight against 'mad bombers' like Gingrich...Gingrich shows terror tactics work...Jim Wright is a saint compared to the ethics of Gingrich and Delay..Yet, no one challenges Delay at the guttoral level the Repugs. use..That is why they win...
In spite of what Demo's spout, nastiness works..How do you think the Repugs. became the majority party.
Democrats think they have to be the responsible party when the opposition is using guerrila warfare..
For the time being Move On will get more bucks from me than the Democrats...Democrats don't know how to fight back. When the draft dodger Bush conviinces the public that the Purple heart recipient Kerry is a coward...Well, enough said...
a ps...think Homeland Security thinks a Yacht is a good threat to domestic security..I think of Yachts as sitting ducks..Guess, we don't have any pirates in the Potomac...Think possible George feels slighted becasue Queen Elizabeth has a bigger boat than his?

10. If The Party Won't Change From Within ...
... then groups like MoveOn and DFA will change it from the outside.

Remember: most of the DC Dems are feckless enough to follow the money and the victories. When our 527s can do what the Repunk 527s do -- and do it without waiving whatever the equivalent of Harry and Louis at our supporters -- we win. And they've had a head start of a decade or two (and still can't get more than 2 percentage points and change ahead of us nationally).

Don't be discouraged by the DC Dems' timidity, USE it. That's what MoveOn intends to do.

Throw 'em a few bucks, willya?

14. "A fool and his money are soon parted."
I can't believe so many folks STILL put their faith into a criminally fraudulent system that has failed them time and time again.

17. Repugs. won by being attack dogs.
All the polite pols say we need be polite..Gingrich/Delay was and is not..They won...Democrats need heed some of their methods....
As far as I can see the only attack dogs for progressives is Move On...Democrats don't know how to fight...I would prefer my money be spent more effectively...

18. I give credit to
the election 2000 fiasco, Michael Moore and Move On for getting many compacent Dems up off their couches and making them Passionate about Politics again. At least it worked for me. I don't regret any of the tons of my little-enough monies that I sent them...oh well, guess it's time to start contributing again.

19. Only if they target some specific Democrats as well
That's the only way to win it back. Some Democrats MUST GO!

20. Most must go not just some
There are a few.... Dennis Kacinich for one, that hold true to their principles but the great majority have no principles to hold true to. We need to start with a clean slate. IMHO
