more bush* slams lately in the news?
is it just me or has anyone else noticed a distinct decrease in fawning-over-bush stories/spin/spews/commentary?

I noticed a slight drop off back in December, but then the Tsunami hit, bush* rode his bike around and then finally responded to the tragedy -- so there was an uptick in boot-licking stories and bush*'s numbers got a small bump.

but numbers dropped again as we neared the coronation -- as did kiss-bush*-butt stories -- but rather than "just not mention bush* at all" -- there seems to be more repugs, conservatives if not slamming bush* at least being more critical of him

Hope it lasts -- but I'm not holding my breath

1. I am glad I am not the only one who has noticed this new 'bravado' by the
MSM... I am kinda being facetious here in using the term 'bravado', such as it is... But, I do think they are being bolder in their criticism of him and his policies, which is at least a welcome relief to their usual coverage. Perhaps, given enough positive response by their audience, they will keep doing it, and even giving more indepth reports about what Shrub is really doing.

2. I think you're right
And it's increasing, which is great -- Bush's wacko Inaug speech scared a lot of people, even GOP types.

4. I concur, I believe that speech of "untamed fires" alarmed many people
If I'm not mistaken, isn't hell a place where "untamed fires" are common?

bush has clearly revealed himself as leader of the Jesus Mafia.

10. Yeah, and what's worse,
The Jesus Mafia that is apparently planning to ride through the world with their crosses held high, ridding the world of tyranny and imposing American-defined values, beliefs, and political systems. I wonder by how much Al Qaida's recruiters will be exceeding their targets after THAT speech. Yikes!!! (shiver....)

6. I noticed too...
A lot of people here stopped watching MSM months ago, but I have enjoyed watching the spin, and seeing how the real news I have read here is twisted to fit their message. Definite increase in views from our side. Of course, they have accomplished their goal, getting the chimp re-elected, so it may be that they are just giving us some airtime to stop their e-mail boxes from being slammed! LOL

7. I think of alot of the corporate types were a bit freaked out by
the fundamentalist influence in the election. The people who really fund the conservative movement don't want a theocracy- they just want a more accessible kleptocracy. Either that or they've decided that Iraq isn't worth it.

But yeah- I've noticed a more critical edge in corporate news coverage of Bush. Of course that's not saying a whole lot, after 5 years of fawning and swooning.

8. The MSM has always been more critical in the 2nd terms
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 12:47 PM by illflem
than in the first because they are more cautious so as not to be seen as influencing the election.
