That money has to come from somewhere. Rescinding the tax cuts is a step but doubtful, the favorite tactic of the right is the cutback and outright killing of social programs.
Social security has always been a sacred cow, but is it ripe for these lame brains to go after?
Will they be brazen enough to deny a cola this year?

the Afghani Army could be expanding their bridgehead over the Mississippi in their attempt to take Memphis, and no one would suggest reducing social security colas. It is the ultimate sacred cow.

3. Don't be so sure.

They won't do anything overt, but they will nibble at it bit by bit. They will borrow without paying back until the program becomes essentially ineffective. Then the excuse will be to change it over to a privatized program. Social Security as we know it will be gone.
