3. According to Sludge, their ratings are going in the toilet.
Apparently, trying to outFox Fox is NOT working.

How about going back to being a NEWS channel?

Ted Turner, COME BACK!

21. Getting Turner out via the AOL/TWX deal was key to the
complete media takeover. M Powell was step one to clear for deregulation and consolidation. His job is done and will likely be sipping cocktails w/Steve Case on his pineapple farm in Hawaii.

5. CNN IS DONE IN MY OPINION
CNN BLEW IT = AND THEY KNOW IT.

I predict an entire new management team in the next 8 weeks to take over the current losers that run CNN.

12. There is talk they may merge with CBS
I don't know if Viacom would buy it from Time Warner, Vicacom would sell CBS or some other arrangement.

11. I know
I have CCTV, too. You're right. CNN also hired this ex-local anchor, Rick Sanchez, who was booted from MSNBC. He hit some guy down here and it left him a coma and he finally died of his injuries years later. Oy.

19. Yep, he killed a man...
"Yet it still adds up to a lot of negative hype. I mean, it's not like Sanchez ever killed anybody. At least not intentionally. In 1990, he accidentally (and, yes, drunkenly) ran his brand-new Volvo into a fan after a Dolphins' football game in the parking lot of what was then called Joe Robbie Stadium. The victim, Jeffrey Smuzinick, was paralyzed and later died at the age of 35 of complications related to his injuries. Sanchez was never charged with causing the accident (Smuzinick was also drunk) and ultimately pleaded no contest to DUI."

10. CNNservative's Worst Nightmare
They were caught flat-footed with this story...trumped by other networks in getting the word out first, and with little background material. While CNNservative was doing a GOOP-gawk profile on Laura Stepford, MSNBC was already on with a produced Carson bio and far more information.

This network is getting worse and worse...every major story needs a "theme" and some stupid "music of doom".

I joked here during their Tsunami non-coverage that someone in their marketing department was probably working on "Tsumani Disaster" and a tie-in with TGIFridays. This network gets worse every day.

14. CNN the Health Channel
I was so sick of them I wrote and told them that there was already a health channel. They should have listened to their viewers that took the time to write in. They stink!

15. Those things are just done from Photoshop templates.
The original was probably for frigging John Wayne or something. I do work like that all the time- designers are lazy and don't really want to do an original layout for every crap TV visual that comes their way.
