Emmett J Burnett...Dead at Age 87

Since it seems today is a day of death around here I thought Id pass along info of a neighbor of mine who died early this morning.

He served his country in WW2 and was Mayor of a City for 12 years.

RIP Emmett

3. So did James Roberts.
WW2 vet, served 3 terms as a village board member and 16 years on the school board here. He was a die-hard Democrat.

Godspeed, Jim!

6. Thanks. It does us well to remember. . .
that every day sees the death of accomplished people. We just don't know them all.

7. If you personally know a vet who served
may I suggest writing them a letter telling them generally of the personal qualities in them you admire. And then specifically thank them for their service.

I did this on Veterans day for a WWII vet friend, and it was deeply appreciated, to put it mildly.

We're losing large numbers of our WWII vets on a daily basis.
