Neo-Cons Attack Sponge Bob
Hahahahahahhaah. They're telling parents to turn off Mr. Square Pants because he's gay. (hardy gut laughter) They're talking boycotts of nickelodian. Sorry if someone posted this, but damn it's funny. I'll be sure to bring this up at the rapture when they get us all killed in their little religious war. Hahahaha.

1. Sponge Bob is asexual
and the group who sponsored the film he appears in believes in tolerance of all people different from oneself. Guess Bob Dobson can't have that.

4. KO played the video on Countdown...
KO played the video on Countdown last week and Dobson must have no clue who Spongebob is because he appears like once in the entire video for a total of, like, three seconds.

They must be thanking the Neonuts for the opportunity for publicity.

6. Focus! (AND a link to the story)
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 08:09 AM by Bark Bark Bark
Disney Channel regulars (Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch, and Winnie The Pooh, for example) are included in the video. It's a huge collection of characters from various sources, promoting tolerance (or more accurately, non-intolerance); what has set the wingnuts off is a anti-gaybashing message on the videomaker's WEB SITE.

How's THAT for idiotic?

7. not neocons...fundies
It's the religious fanatics that find gay sex in cartoon after cartoon.

Neocons fake religious beliefs to further their agenda--war.

10. Oddly Enough...
...No one's mentioned "South Park" (featuring Big Gay Al and assorted moments of graphic sex) or "Drawn Together" (which in one episode depicts God Himself sniffing a...*ahem*).

11. I wonder
if those two shows (which my husband and I watch faithfully with our teenagers--they're howlingly funny) are just so over the top for the fundies that they go into temporary comas and forget what they saw when they wake up.

There was a lot of tongue wagging about South Park years and years ago of course, but now it seems the South Park kids can't BUY themselves controversy anymore.

Drawn together was some of the raunchiest, and most ridiculous cartoon episodes I have ever witnessed. I would watch entire shows with my jaw dropped. Can't wait for next season.

12. Neo-cons? No, it's the Christian Right
It's Dobson's group, Focus on the Family. Neo-cons don't give a damn about the Right's social agenda. Their concerns are foreign policy.
Please folks, let's learn what neo-conservatism actually means.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism_%28United_States%29

Wikipedia notes: "Compared to other U.S. conservatives, neoconservatives are characterized by an aggressive stance on foreign policy, a lesser social conservatism, and weaker dedication to a policy of minimal government. . . .

Neoconservatives are conservatives who are "new" (neo) to the conservative movement in some way. Usually, this comes as a result from the migration from the left of the political spectrum to the right, over the course of many years. . . .

As the radicalization of the New Left pushed these intellectuals further to the right in response, they moved toward a more aggressive militarism. . .

This political group supported a militant anticommunism; more social welfare spending than was acceptable to libertarians and mainstream conservatives; and sympathy with a non-traditionalist agenda, being more inclined than other conservatives toward an interventionist foreign policy and a unilateralism that is sometimes at odds with traditional conceptions of diplomacy and international law. They feuded with traditional right-wing Republicans, and the nativist, protectionist, isolationists once represented by ex-Republican "paleoconservative" Pat Buchanan.

But domestic policy does not define neoconservatism; it is a movement founded on, and perpetuated by an aggressive approach to foreign policy, free trade, opposition to communism during the Cold War, support for beleaguered liberal democracies such as Israel and the Taiwan and opposition to Middle Eastern and other states that are perceived to support terrorism."

14. It's because they can't tap into Spongebob's profits
Seriously, this is the modus operandi of these idiots.

Back in the eighties, the syndications rights to The Smurfs came up. Pat Robem$ome's Christian Broadcasting Network bid on the syndication rights, and lost out to Turner Broadcasting.

Within a couple of weeks, Robem$ome attacked the Smurfs as Satanic.

Want to find out the REAL REASON for the attack on Spongebob? Look to see who missed out on profits because of some recent deal that was cut.

15. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
trivia: What is the name of the town below Bikini Bottoms?

Go SpongeBob! Attacking a cartoon character. When the neo-cons open their mouths and think they are intelligent, they are even more idiotic than ever!

Remember how Puff the magic dragon got attacked?

Or when they showed the Day After, the neo-cons had to come out blabbing about a movie?

They are sick. I wonder sometimes if Neanderthals really are extinct.
