Jared Taylor, a racist in the guise of 'expert'

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day last week, when much of the nation took a holiday, "race-relations expert" Jared Taylor was hard at work. He began at 6:45 a.m. with an interview with a Columbus radio station. At 7:05 he was on the air in Orlando. An hour later his voice greeted morning commuters in Huntingdon, W.Va.

At 10:10 a.m., he was introduced no fewer than four times as "race relations expert Jared Taylor" on Fred Honsberger's call-in show on the Pittsburgh Cable News Channel. Four hours later, he was back on the air with Honsberger on KDKA radio, where he repeated the message he'd been thumping all day: Martin Luther King Jr. was a philanderer, a plagiarist and a drinker who left a legacy of division and resentment, and was unworthy of a national holiday.

What Taylor did not say, and what Honsberger didn't seem to know until I picked up the phone and called in myself, was that Jared Taylor believes black people are genetically predisposed to lower IQs that whites, are sexually promiscuous because of hyperactive sex drives. Race-relations expert Jared Taylor keeps company with a collection of racists, racial "separatists" and far-right extremists.

Taylor heads the Virginia-based New Century Foundation. Its board of directors has included a leader of the Council of Conservative Citizens, successor to the White Citizens Councils of the 1960s. A former board member represented the American Friends of the British National Party, a neo-fascist and anti-Semitic far-right group in England. Another board member is an anti-immigration author who has also reviewed books for a Holocaust denial journal.

"Two days later, on December 19th, Mr. Taylor spoke at a press conference sponsored by Jeff Anderson of Americans for Self Determination, a group that promotes racial separation. The event, billed as “Dissident Voices on the President's Initiative on Race,” was held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and was carried live by C-Span (the event was rebroadcast twice during the same weekend). Robert Hoy served as moderator of the conference.

Mr. Taylor touched on many themes, including third-world immigration, liberal hypocrisy, multiculturalism and the dangers of demographic change. Prof. Michael Hart, who was a speaker at the 1996 AR conference, also spoke, noting that although black alienation is often blamed on white racism, it stems largely from race and IQ differences. Citing Michael Levin's book Why Race Matters, Prof. Hart clearly described the black IQ deficit that accounts for much of black failure. "

He is a member of the Jesse Helms (former NC Rep Senator) clan that proactively sought to keep MLK day from becoming a national holiday. Helms read a report of FBI survillence on MLK on the Senate floor in opposition to establishing the holiday.

He has studied the implications of institutionalized racism and identified/explored both overt and insidious forms of racism.

"Experts" who deny any problem exists and blame the victim have ulterior motives to promote a "certain" agenda. They are nothing more than pseudo-intellectual white hoods.

5. This makes me very sad

Back in the 1970s, Jared Taylor, who grew up in Japan, wrote a very perceptive book called Shadows of the Rising Sun as an antidote to all the Japan as Number One nonsense that was current at the time. I had just come back from studying in Japan, and his book seemed to describe the country I had actually lived in better than any of the business-oriented books.

Then, about twenty years later, he resurfaced as a racist. I wonder what happened to him.

Ironically, one of the things he talked about in Shadows was Japanese racism.

openly claiming that blacks and Hispanics are inferior? I remember someone calling him on it asking how Brazilians could have such top notch scientists.
