Austin, where Univ of TX is, hates him...the county in which Austin is, went BLUE..there are people who are trying to get Rush Limbaugh OFF the air down there since he is not welcome on their blue county airwaves.
I read elsewhere on DU that the locals get really really pissed off when the State legislators are in session cuz it brings all the typical TX repukes into an otherwise wonderfully liberal town. They are very happy this only happens every TWO years,
The Daily Texan...UT's newspaper..endorsed Kerry and NOT CHIMP! An entry in their online school blog had the following subject heading right after Black Tuesday: "I voted for the donkey but the jackass won".

There were reports that there were more kids in line in a SINGLE day on campus during early voting then there were in the ENTIRE 2000 election...no doubt these kids played a big part in their county going BLUE.

So chimphead can go around and make his little hand gesture..just remember that the people at UT and their local community, are also making a hand gesture BACK to him...and it ain't a TWO finger gesture!

I'm an Austin resident and you couldn't be more right. On inauguration day there was a huge protest on Congress Ave. bridge -- the whole six lane bridge was blocked off. I was so proud to be an Austinite! The precinct I live in went 70 percent for Kerry. Please don't forget this, all you Texas haters! The repukes DO NOT own this great state!
