The reason the neo-cons are after CBS and Spongebob is simple
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 05:25 PM by Clark2008
Both CBS and Nichelodoen are owned by Viacom and Viacom is the ONLY "blue" company in the major media market today.

So, we see what the true motives are and it isn't really about Spongebob's sexual preference or Dan Rather or Leslie Stahl being tough reporters. It's that they own the other six major media outlets and can't stand that they don't own all seven.

2. Redstone, did, yes.

But he's just the head of CBS (which is certainly no small potatoes). Still, CBS is owned by Viacom, which gives about 78 percent of their contributions to Dems.
Viacom is MUCH larger than simply CBS. They also partner with another blue company - Dreamworks - to provide movies and other entertainment outside of television.
It's a power thing for the neo-cons. They don't like it that Viacom has. They keep trying to throw down obsticles and Viacom keeps finding ways around them (like when Pixar got in a snit with them).

6. He's the director
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 05:36 PM by Clark2008
Joel Hollandar is the Chairman and CEO.

(On Edit: Redstone is the director. But it's a vast conglomorate of companies and Redstone is just one person. Apparently, the many, many other companies are more blue to his red. Hope this makes sense.)

But, he voiced personal support for * to take the heat off of CBS. He's a democrat. Trust me I work for the parent company.

3. Bingo, it's all about the money
Look into the syndication of the Smurfs and when Pat Robem$ome started his crusade against Satanic Smurfs. It's all about money.

5. That is one reason. Combine it with reichwing need to hate...
someone, anyone. Totalitarian movements need scapegoats. If it isn't spongebob it will be South Park or Barney or Alias or Lost.

9. "strategic initiative"
just like:
vouchers
No Child Left Behind
tort reform
SS "privatization"

EVERYTHING the nazinuts do is about DE-FUNDING any opposition. Period!!! They have NO "policy." Everything they do is about attacking anything and everyone who doesn't bow down before the BoyKing.
