Aides: Shelley may resign

Secretary of State Kevin Shelley, who faces another rebuke Tuesday with the release of a highly critical report on his personnel practices, has told aides and others close to him that he may resign from office rather than answer all the allegations he's facing in multiple investigations.
The embattled Democrat had insisted for months that he had done nothing wrong and would not be forced from office. But a number of sources close to Shelley, while not predicting what he ultimately will decide, said he has repeatedly brought up the subject of resignation in recent days.

"It's hour by hour with him," one associate said. "His mood changes all the time."

Another close confidant said Shelley is busy preparing to testify at a Joint Legislative Audit Committee hearing scheduled for Feb. 3 about allegations that he misused federal elections funds. But this source said he has also heard Shelley say he might resign rather than testify under oath. *snip*

THIS IS NOT GOOD...SHELLEY WAS IN LINE FOR THE GOVERNORSHIP NEXT GO ROUND...I HOPE "THE MACHINE" HASN'T GOTTEN TO HIM! :-(

1. There are folks whom worked under him. Whom he vetted who are

making these claims against him (I assume that he is the one who hired and vetted them). Sounds like it's a good thing that he may not be next "in line" for the governorship.

However, I'm only making this observation based on this article and no other information.

2. Sad as this may be, if this Shelley person did pick up baggage
along the way, best that he be eliminated now, than later when someone can use the information against him and turn him to vote like so many Dems have before me.

What gets me is that any party that has Ralph Reed in their ranks has got to be crooked as hell. Why aren't the Repubs getting caught?

3. Someone has declared war on CA dems.
I'm HIGHLY suspicious of the way Shelley has been targeted. He's not alone--they're going after Don Perata, too (head of the state senate).

Combine those investigations with Ahnold's intention to gerrymander districts, and something just gets very, very smelly.

Phil Angelides is a prince of a man, and hopefully clean as a whistle. I think he's one of our best shots at taking Ahnold's office away from him.

4. Shelley was on OUR side against Diebold....he shut Diebold down in CA
THAT is why the repukes went after him.

If anyone has a link, we need to write supporting e-mails to Shelley. If he "misused" elections funds, there was some sort of set-up going on. He went against the bush mafia by shutting out Diebold, and giving them a bad name.

We can't have THAT now, can we?? <sarcasm>

Let's try to give him some support!! They're trying to box him into a corner, and we need to go after the ones doing it!

:kick::kick:
