4. I hate when everybody is grouped under a label like this.

NOT ALL Christian groups are lunatics--it is these nut jobs on the extreme right who are against every God-damned thing except bible reading.

The same can be said for people referred to as "radical gays" or "pro-abortionists" or "left wingers", etc. This really bothers me. These labels are used to segregate people into slots and disregard the distinct and numerous points-of-view found in each of these "categories".

Life is only that simple and black and white for Rush and his fans. The real world is loaded with shades of gray.

6. I think the OP was implicitly pretty clear he/she meant the nutball fringe
and not actual Christians, who seem to be awfully non-vocal these days, unfortunately.

7. There a difference between the Religious Insane
and people who try to follow a spiritual path.

I don't think people need to define which group we are referring to at this point.

9. Actually Sane minded Christians should become more vocal about the
differences between them and the Rapture Right Wing-nuts. They should be mindful that these people's claim of Christianity reflects on them. They should be screaming from the rafters that these policies are not Jesus' teachings.

They should stand up for Jesus Christ and his teachings. What are they waiting for?

21. Here's a link
to a version suitable for output on your printer. There are 4 cards to a page. Cut 'em apart and have fun.

(Just delete the 's' at the beginning of the link.)

19. Most of them ARE being vocal about this
the trouble is, they don't make for controversial stories on the front page, so their efforts tend to get overlooked by the MSM. There are plenty of interfaith alliances working on tolerance and justice and peace issues, but they get ignored in favor of the extremist fundy fringe, who make better copy.

12. "NOT ALL Christian groups are lunatics"
That's not what the OP said in his post.

But the more X-tians here who play victim, the less I am inclined to believe they are not ALL lunatics.

14. He said "Christian groups are up in arms" -- not SOME -- and please
I hope you are not putting me in any category because my point is that the labelling is wrong. Period. I am not advocating anything and I don't belong to any Christian groups.

16. read the rest of the post
he clearly is talking about christian groups that DONT listen to christs teaching (i.e. the fundamentalist groups that think abortion is worse than letting a child starve)

18. Not everything.
Right winged nutty Christians are in arms about homosexuality and stuff.

Left winged Christians are in arms about helping the poor.

Don't label everybody.

The right winged Christians get on my last nerve too, but don't let them drag you down into labeling.
