When the monkey pooped on John's head,...he became my favorite person. |
|
I'll never forget when that monkey shit on his head. :bounce: I still laugh at the mere thought of it.
I know that man is in a fabulous place.
The reason I know that man is in a fabulous place is because,...he delivered me to a fabulous place.
My love to that man.
He touched me in a non-judgmental, human way,...and THAT means everything to "Just Me".

2. I'm actually watching some MSM tonight, just to see the coverage |
|
Last night on Headline News they made up their own "tribute" when they had the anchor say something about Johnny being the precursor to Larry King. Even to insinuate that Larry King can hold a CANDLE to Johnny Carson is ludicruous. They only once delivered that line. Somebody must have made them come to their senses.
What a loss. Cannot be replaced.

>Even to insinuate that Larry King can hold a CANDLE to Johnny Carson is ludicruous.<
Considering the fact that Larry King recently asked John Edwards if it would be offputting to him if his wife was "disfigured" from cancer, I can unequivocally say that the whores at Headline News must be on some rilly, rilly good drugs.
There isn't, and never will be again, anyone like Johnny Carson. DH and I agree that the only person currently on television with anywhere near the appeal and the talent is Jon Stewart. David Letterman said it best: "Those of us who came after are but pretenders." Props to Dave for being humble as well.

6. Julie,...would you kindly, for a moment, embrace the love of Johnny,... |
|
,...and spread that,...spread that "joy" in humanity,...for just a moment.
Life is hard. Please, embrace and spread the moments of "joy". By so doing, we may become the antibiotic to a disease.
Yes? :bounce:

4. Larry King is not even on the same planet. |
|
I would not mention Larry in the same breath as Johnny.

5. He made "being human" FEEL comfortable. |
|
I am 42 years old. My parents loved watching "The Tonight Show", as right-wing as they have become.
Maybe, we all miss embracing the thankless task of "being human".
Maybe, we are all tired of the demands for perfection by the "IMPERFECT" experts who are making big bucks to advance "perfection" rather than embrace "being human".
I want MORE human REACH,...like THAT,...like THAT offered by John.
Of course, I get that human REACH,...right here (thankfully) on DU. And I especially love the unappreciated humor of those like mopaul.
