Is the United States of America a sociopath?
Sociopathy.

Individuals with this disorder have little regard for the
feeling and welfare of others.

There are ten general
symptoms:

not learning from experience
no sense of responsibility
inability to form meaningful relationships
inability to control impulses
lack of moral sense
chronically antisocial behavior
no change in behavior after punishment
emotional immaturity
lack of guilt
self-centeredness

People with this disorder may exhibit criminal behavior. They do not consider other people's wishes, welfare or rights. They can be manipulative and may lie to gain personal pleasure or profit. They may default on loans, or fail to care for their dependents adequately. High risk sexual behavior and substance abuse are common. Impulsiveness, failure to plan ahead, aggressiveness, irritability, irresponsibility, and a reckless disregard for their own safety and the safety of others are traits of the antisocial personality.

Unfortunately, most people with Antisocial Personality Disorder
reject treatment. Therefore, recovery rates are low.

1. The party in power ...
and its pariah president certainly qualify as sociopaths.

2. Yeah, maybe I should have made that caveat.

But the symptoms sure make for interesting comparisons.

4. It is an apt comparison, in both cases something is broken internally

The course of our nation internationally lacks any humanity because it is the result of a massively unconstitutional succession of increases in power of the executive branch creating an opening for what is now approaching if not arrived at full on tyranny.

6. The fabled checks and balances
are out of balance or been checked out. I recall in school having the American political system explained to us. There was a lot of emphasis placed on the careful crafting of these limits to power.

So, is the confluence of a Republiczan Congress, a boot-licking Supreme court and an apparently insane Executive branch a hopefully one-time anomaly, an unfortunate harmonic of silliness, or has there been a real shift in the US?

5. In a way, yeas
As US as a nation has totally surrendered to capitalism become a mere tool of legal persons called corporations, it is forced to act according to corporate interests.

And corporations by their very nature are persons that truly are, in the full meaning of the word, sociopaths.

In the name of Humanity, it's time to declare WAR against corporations! Kill corporations!

7. OK,
but does decapitation work? It seems to me that a corporation is a Hydra-headed monster.

9. It's a worthy opponent
But the decision to kill it comes first, then the search for means to do so. Know thy enemy is the good old guideline.

What is special about a corporation? It's a form of ownership with one very crucial difference to other forms of "joint venture", like cooperatives. This difference is obvious, it's the LTD, limited liability. To kill all corporations we must ban limited liability, it's that simple.

8. corporations ARE sociopathic
How is it they have taken over our country?? They own our politicians, Republicans AND Democrats, we're screwed! How can we replace our leaders with honest people who aren't paid off by the corporations??
I know you're all Democrats, but do you see that the Dems in office are just as crooked as the Republicans?? THEY AREN'T WORKING FOR US!
