He's from China, and the first words out of his mouth were: "You can wear the flag here? It's illegal in China... wearing the flag there amounts to a stoning."

So I proceeded to tell him it's illegal here too. What's funny though, is that wearing the flag is seen as patriotic, yet burning the flag is seen as traitorous. The latter is usually used to make a point, though not always agreed with. But the former is desecration of the worse kind, desecration without knowledge while trying to display false patriotism and "style."
