Bush phones in support for abortion protest
Change 'may still be some way away,' he tells marchers

Why do some praise bush like he is god? The way some of these people act is sick. I am not necessarily a religious person, but this is one reason I do not go around these people, it doesnt feel right, my gut tells me to stay away from people like this.

10. You beat me to it!
We always really know who to watch our food stamps around as long as we pay attention to the hair standing up on the backs of our necks and that sick feeling in our guts and not to how much they say they love Jesus.

When somebody starts testifyin' to religion or Bush, I check to make sure they haven't lifted my wallet yet and head for the nearest exit.

Gawd! Talk about your Kool Aid drinkers.

We once went to an evangelical church with relatives (the first, last, and only time we went) and the whole place got like those in the pictures in this thread.

The same church, by the way, encouraged the retirees there to sign one SS check a year over to the church. Nice, huh?

13. These people are simply praying for a reversal of
Roe V Wade. The fact that smirky called them to urge them on is simply that his "markers" from the religious right have been called in. They demand he act in their favor since they pulled out all the stops to help get him elected.

This event is an annual thing and it's simply another attempt to "abort" WOMEN'S RIGHTS.

If Bush didn't acknowledge these cultist's demands, they'd eat his lunch.

Bush isn't the slightest bit spiritual. He is a plutocrat/fascist. If his supporters were PRO ABORTION, he'd support that whole heartedly. Any means to an end......

So, these folks are being used; I guess they like it. Each side of the equation in neocon politics get's it's "needs" met this way. The corporatists get the leadership they want, and the fundies get what they want.

What an unspeakably twisted alliance they are!!

It's so ironic that these freaking bible thumpers want to post the Ten Commandments in public buildings when the REGIME in power clearly violates, on a daily basis, so MANY of those said commandments.

First commandment: THOU SHALT NOT KILL (IRAQUIS, not eggs)

Jon Stewart did a bit on this tonight. How Bush couldn't be bothered to step outside his house to talk to these protestors in front of the White House, so he "phoned it in."

21. Please note the large number of women in the crowd..
For those who think that the anti-choice crowd is all men.

I have a couple of former friends who could easily fit in this crowd, due to their Catholic upbringing. The 6 weeks of 'prolife' training in middle school..no abortion/deathpenalty/euthanasia..but abortion is seen as the most important to them because of the numbers.

and conciously choose to follow bush. Just like people often choose to follow or not to follow religions.

Just because they follow a religion doesn't make them unable to think for themselves.

But you seem to be someone who wants to generalize and only believe that the religious are unable of independent thought. So, pointing out how wrong you are, when you apparently don't want to hear that, is no different than trying to explain to a bush supporter that moore has vailid gripes against bush. Is it because you can't think for yourself, probably not. But your statement sure has implications that you aren't much different than the fundies with intolerance for views other than your own.

40. Your right, I don't care to listen.
Not really in the mood to debate the pros and cons of believing in religion. And yes, I was generalizing. Concluding that my off the cuff comment regarding the posted picture is akin to the intolerance of fundies, was most interesting. LOL....

Clearly you are a believer, and found my post most offensive. Interesting how you draw the conclusion that I am "intolerant" and "wrong." Again, LOL....

Peace for now, perhaps we can debate religion at a later time in a tread which offers more than a picture.

39. Bush says that change, "may still be some way away".
How fucking transparent is that? It's like our own government backing the Kurds while doing everything possible to block the foundation of a Kurdish state. 'Hold on just a little longer- you have to do some more things for me and then we'll be ready!', they say.

Not that I back these anti-abortion activists- far from it. But you'd think they'd recognize the fact that the Republican Party plays them for fools. Republicans have all 3 branches of government, AND the media. Why haven't these wackos had their every wish fulfilled? Because as soon as they get what they want, their masters wouldn't have any more power over them. Sad.
