Advocating the assassination of bush twins; as funny as when it's CHELSEA?
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 04:48 AM by LynnTheDem
"A specter is haunting America — the specter of Bushism. Yes, the man is gone in 4 years, off to a lifetime of golfing at all-white clubs, biting his lip in the pulpits of black churches while the hallelujahs soar, goosing waitresses, slithering in and out of shady business deals, being collared by showbiz bores at parties, and defending himself in court. And yes, his lady has no future.

Yet still the presence of that specter will be felt, an icy wind blowing to us from the unseeable future, disturbing our sleep, arresting us in the midst of our daily tasks, chilling and warning us. Dubya and Pickles will be history, but Bushism may yet rise again, like Glen Close from that bathtub. For, ladies and gentlemen, the tworch has been paaahssed to a noooh genewation of Bushes.

The Bush twins are Bushes. They bear the taint; and though not prosecutable in law, in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored. All the great despotisms of the past—I’m not arguing for despotism as a principle, but they sure knew how to deal with potential trouble—recognized that the families of objectionable citizens were a continuing threat. In Stalin’s penal code it was a crime to be the wife or child of an “enemy of the people”. The Nazis used the same principle, which they called Sippenhaft, “clan liability”. In Imperial China, enemies of the state were punished “to the ninth degree”: that is, everyone in the offender’s own generation would be killed, and everyone related via four generations up, to the great-great-grandparents, and four generations down, to the great-great-grandchildren, would also be killed.

My piece last Thursday, warning about the lurking threat of the Bush twins, got a lot of attention.

Andrew Sullivan, by sly excerpting, left his readers — most of whom, being liberals, would be too stupid to locate the original text — with the impression I had called for the extermination of the entire Clinton clan.

Have I no shame? More than a room full of Bushes.

Do I intend to apologize? In your dreams. I make it a point of principle never to apologize to hysterical idiots.

I'd love to know if the rightwingnuts & Derbyshit still think this is so funny when Chelsea's name is changed to "the bush twins".

2. I refuse to believe it's anything to do with Christianity
There is simply NO WAY Christ EVER advocated such crap.

It was SICK of Derbyshit to do those articles about Chelsea; and it reads just as SICK when the bush twins are used in place of Chelsea's name.

But you KNOW the rightwingnuts would NOT be laughing and calling it "just tongue-in-cheek humor" taking the EXACT articles and simply changing the names.

4. It goes way beyond Christianity
The op/ed even mentions Imperial China (certainly no bastian of Christianity at the time). His argument is a function of one of the most base and vile aspects of human nature: the need to hurt not only your enemy, but also his family and those he loves and associates with. To stamp out all traces of his life and existence.

Go figure that NRO would run a column justifying such savage hatred.

16. That is, again, Old Testament.
Jesus didn't advocate that.

7. Oh sorry, I didn't make my post very clear, did I?
No, he, the little bastard, wrote the articles but about Chelsea; I just took his articles & changed the names to the bush clan.

They're such damned hypocrites, but all we progressives usually ever point out is their constant stream of stupid childish hypocrisy.

But so much of their hypocrisy is very nasty stuff, like Derbyshit's article on Chelsea, and most of Ann Coulter's "massacre half the American population", and a lot of the same type crap from Hannity & pigboy etc. It's NOT stupid childish hypocrisy in these cases, imo.

And by taking their exact words but with bush family instead of Clinton's, some rightwingnuts may eventually see the light.

Yeah I know, highly doubtful. But we're progressives; we keep on trying. :D

8. Actually, I think the tactic is a great way to point out their hypocrisy..
You could replace "Bush" with "Derbyshire" and really get a reaction out of him, although it's highly doubtful this guy could even get someone to breed with him:

Looks like Boulderang without a 'stache, doesn't it?:)

9. Oh, my God! Derbyshire is a nutcase! Was he ever investigated?
That is just the most horrible thing I've read, and you're right, right-wingers were condoning the murder of liberals and to my knowledge, they were never bothered by our intelligence agencies.

That's just not right.

That is so unAmerican and hateful. What the heck did Chelsea ever do to him.

He must really have an unhappy lovelife / childhood.

11. What an ASSHOLE!
"You can't get through to everyone. You do your best, that's all. Humor and irony are especially tricky."

I love this response, we didn't get his ENGLISH brand of humor. We got it and it wasn't funny. Fire in the movie house, asshole. Using Shakespeare, give me a break.

"This underestimates the subtlety of the lunatic mind"

You use Charles Manson I say Paul Hill. I may underestimate the subtlety of the lunatic mind however you underestimate how many lunatics there are out there.

Lynn that was a great post because it codifies that the pendulum is stuck in one position. You are right if that had been the bush twins, my god what the out cry and prosecution would have been.

12. National Review showed their character in publishing Derbyshire
That article still pisses me off to this day. Glad to see what you did with it. Good idea.

That shitbag deserved a serious physical beating for writing what he did. Somebody at NR should have editted his face with their fist just for submitting it. If I were publishing what had hitherto been a respectable Democratic rag and somebody came in with that kind of vile to be published, that's exactly what I'd do.

Heard a few days ago that he's on some upcoming right-wing panel or conference, I think going to be on C-SPAN. Couldn't believe the turd is still in play, but that's what Republicans do.

15. Jesus Christ.....................
Bush twin 'taint. I will now have that sickening image rolling around my head all day long.
I'm imagining another form of "taint" that is mentioned here. The word/image dynamic has kicked in and I'm hoping that something will come along to replace it, soon. Otherwise I'm doomed to be imagining Bush Twin 'Taint all day long.
Maybe I'll sing "Afternoon Delight" for a while this morning, that usually does the trick. Although I hate the song, it does replace unpleasant thoughts trapped in my mind. Then of course I have the problem of getting rid of "Afternoon Delight", but that's far better than the original problem.

17. sins of the father
This belief was also very predominant amongst the roman republic, hence many sons of famous generals being given command of consular armies in the hopes of repeating great victories. One of the the main reasons that Scipio Africanus was given command of the spanish campaign, during the punic wars.
