122. Yeh, I like it too!
We're flying down to Florida on Sunday for a two week vacation. I'll have my little ice pack for my neck (in case it gets over 70-degrees) and my small conveniently blue plastic fan. I'm a "low thermal" person -- my interior thermostat doesn't operate well in heat -- and I've been this way since I was a child.

So I'm proud to be a Blueneck from Oregon!

38. No they aren't. Both Communism and fascism are totalitarian.
fascism = totalitarianism + capitalism according to Mussolini and FDR
capitalism and socialism are opposite ends of an axis.
democracy and dictatorship/monarchy are opposite ends of another axis.

A state can be totalitarian and capitalist (fascism):

“Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.” -- Benito Mussolini

“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism -- ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.” -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

A state can be totalitarian and socialist (communism).
A state can be democratic and capitalist.
A state can be democratic and socialist.
A state can be anywhere inbetween the two axis. The U.S. has both capitalist policies and socialist policies.

Here is a list of some of the socialist ones:
socialized armed forces
socialized water
socialized police
socialized fire department
social(ized) security
medicare
road building/maintanance
public waste and water treatment
public schools

44. You can map political views using four axes...
in a cross shape: Totalitarian<->Libertarian (up/down),Socialist<->Capitalist (left/right).

There's a website where you can find out where you are on this, forgotten the name though.

52. Communism means communal ownership of property
Fascism means an authoritarian form of statism that advocates private property, state-centralized economy, militarism, and nationalism. What the Soviet Union practiced was not true communism, but what's called communistic statism, which was indeed totalitarian, as they confused STATE ownership with communal - public - ownership. They gave state authorities the rights to what, in their ethos, should have been public property.

Socialism is not a political system. It is an economic system, as is capitalism.

17. Much better than "Crips."
Thanks, Freeperland! Me likey.

As to this lame quiz, I'm down for the following:

You actually use the term "significant other" in a sentence.
(For fun, sure. and? so? the term threatens you how?)

You actually use the term "cocktail party" in a sentence.
(what, repugs don't have them?)

You have to use a pass-key just to get into your neighborhood or building.
(none of these faux-tuff guys work in a secure building? why do they hate the military industrial complex? and our freedom? and our homeland security? America-hatin' BASTIDS!)

Friends and family are equally important to you.
(Freepers have no real friends? ok.)

College Professors actually seem interesting to you.
(Well, no, not the Bob Jones U staffers, but otherwise...)

An art gallery tour takes you more than 12.5 minutes.
(only girly-men are interested in art? You mean like Winston Churchill? or their hero Adolph Hitler?)

Somebody else actually physically touches your money.
(do they barter dried fish in exchange for ciggies at the local convenience store?)

You often use the term "Global" (anything) at least once a day.
(Get used to it.)

30. Quiz AWAY! (My answers)
You actually use the term "significant other" in a sentence.
(As opposed to what? The N-word?)

You actually use the term "cocktail party" in a sentence.
(If I remember correctly, and I do, I learned that phrase
from a Republican.)

You have to use a pass-key just to get into your neighborhood or building.
(What about the bubble boy in the WH. I don't see him ambling
about... Why can't I wander onto his cattle less ranch?)

Friends and family are equally important to you.
(I'm sort of like Jesus... I love all my brothers and
sisters.)

College Professors actually seem interesting to you.
(Yeah, that "Dr." Dobson guy is a hoot. Especially when
he's speaking in tongues about absorbent sea creatures.)

An art gallery tour takes you more than 12.5 minutes.
(Yeah, I tend to linger... But, I *LIKE* beautiful women
untainted landscapes, and living animals.)

Somebody else actually physically touches your money.
(I thought they *WANTED* Social Security Investments.
Guess what, bozos, I also actually physically touch women,
beer, and hot cars.)

You often use the term "Global" (anything) at least once a day.
(Yes, I often point out how the flat earth freepers reject that
the earth is in a global shape.)

Your biggest fear is walking into or being seen in a “Tavern”.

Actually, I call the place I visit a couple of times a month a bar becase tavern sounds snooty to me.

Vallet is a necessity, not a treat.

I'll just assume the poster meant "a valet." Moran.

You think Jon Stewart is a genius.

86. What a weird mishmosh of incompatiblities!
A few of these points seem to be aimed at generic left-wingers. (Signs and slogans. Fidel Castro. Tinfoil.)

Some at stereotypical gays. (Village People. Mardi Gras.)

Some at the more bubbleheaded New Agers. (Crystal balls.)

Some at standard-issue Gen X-ers. (Significant others. Friends as important as family. Piercings.)

A bunch seem to involve leftover 1950's images of artsy culture snobs. (Wine. Cocktail parties. College professors. Zen furniture. Art galleries. Dislike of bars and Walmart and the Midwest.)

A bunch more could only apply to rich folks. ("How do people live like that." "Little people." Gated communities. Diamond rings. Obsession with image and high fashion. Answering services.)

And some I don't understand at all. (Multicolor button-down shirts? Wasn't that some fad of the 80's? "Somebody else actually physically touches your money"? Does that mean rednecks live entirely off credit cards while bluenecks pay cash? Or is it some new sexual perversion?)

I suppose it makes most sense if you just take this as a list of "people that Freepers don't like or understand" -- a combination of lower middle-class resentment of the wealthy and educated with a deep suspicion of anyone who rejects conventional social values.

But if we're going to co-opt the term "blueneck," we've got to come up with a more coherent set of definitions pronto.

That's "Freeper humor" versus actual humor for ya, though--100 times the condescension, one-tenth the intelligence. ;)

And would it be worth pointing out to any of them that the Bush family is way wealthier than most Americans will ever be? If any of his worshippers were to actually try to shake his hand, he'd probably give them a look that says he'd rather be dragged over carpet tacks and dipped in rubbing alcohol than to have to touch one of the "great unwashed."

You actually use the term “cocktail party” in a sentence.

Bush got the majority of voters in the upper income brackets whereas Kerry got the majority of low and middle class income earners. (CNN exit polls).

But why bother with facts? If they want to remain delusional and believe that most Democrats are wealthy elitists, so be it. They are mocking their own, but too stupid to see it.

...where did these morons get the idea that we're all a bunch of filthy rich, limo-riding, starbucks drinkers? Um, earth to jackass, have you looked at your Great Leader lately?

I have a few of my own. You might be a Blueneck if:

You actually understand that the world does not revolve around the US.

You can read.

You are more familiar with the Constitution than the Ten Commandments.

You don't automatically ejaculate in your pants everytime Great Leader says "freedom" or "liberty."

You are actually able to have a reasonable debate without resorting to asking why someone hates freedom.

49. What's so funny is to look up the history of the term Redneck...
the term originated in the Mine Wars. The original Red Necks were the mineworkers fighting for the unionization of the mines. They wore red neckerchiefs to signify their sympathy with the union cause. They were also considered socialists - Reds.

In my first few jobs I actually showered AFTER WORK, I own a Gun, I volunteered for the military in 66, I am a person of faith, I actually read Scripture and try to follow it (especially the parts about the "poor" and "the stranger in your midst"), and I eat red meat and drink workin' man's beer (Iron City, not IC Lite or Rolling Rock or Imports) - but I am a Democrat and an ACLUer

PS - Not even RC - and I am a Lay Member of the Papal Knights of the Irish Order of Saint Florian (look it up on Google, we lost three Active Brothers in NYC on Sunday).

"You actually use the term “significant other”" Yes. Yes, I do. Mine is an adult and I don't think it's right to call him a boyfriend (well, sometimes, but I like the option.)

"You actually use the term “cocktail party” in a sentence." I agree with the person who said most people who attend these are actually wealthy Republicans.

"Friends and family are equally important to you." What kind of a dumb statement is that?

"You have more rocks on your fingers than in your head." HUH? Where I come from, telling someone they have rocks in their head is not a compliment.

"College Professors actually seem interesting to you." This is so stupid it doesn't bear comment.

Oh, and as far as the art gallery one? I've spent more than 12.5 minutes in front of one PICTURE or display.

I will never understand people knocking education, art, and intelligence - it smacks of a ruling class who want uneducated masses. But the masses themselves, you'd think, would aspire beyond that.

By admitting that they consider us superior to them in bloodline and intelligence, they actually believe they are insulting us. We do not need to provide evidence of their ignorance; we may now rest our case. Freepie, can you say, "Hoist on one's own petard"?

(Now they all scramble to their dictionary to look up the meaning of "petard," but some of course will first start screaming that I'm insulting their genitals.)

You know the only reason they are so proud of their lowbrow ways is because if they aspired to be any better than what they are, they would be forced to admit their leader is a moron and a crass boor, which would surely cause their heads to explode because their minds cannot reconcile the presence of two contradictory opinions existing in the same more or less empty sphere.

3. The Kids with all those noserings.
4. College Professors
5. "Welfare Queens"

How many of these groups regularly use a valet????

I'm truly amazed at why they think we're like the "wealthy" elite. Talk about some serious fucking ignorance.

And why the fuck does art and food always have to take a hit for? Talk about having a chip on your fucking shoulder. If you have to make fun of someone's raw fish and coffee choice -- you have some SERIOUS low self-esteem issues.

But -- isn't that what this is all about anyway? The fact that we're smarter, more worldly, put -ing on the end of our words and look down on their petty consumer bullshit. Or at least I do, anyway.
