I apologize if somethinglike this has already been posted. What happens with F-911 now?

1. AAR said he pulled it from the Documentary consideration.
And you KNEW they weren't going to toss it a Best Picture, because the Oscars are a cute little reach-around club.

3. Oh, please
Documentaries rarely get considered for best picture, and F-911 didn't deserve that nomination. There were many finer films. Frankly, I don't think F-911 deserved a documentary nomination. It was an important film politically, not artistically.

5. Agreed
Any attempt to turn F911 into something more than it actually was would be blatant political manipulation..........

6. I don't think F 9/11 was the Best Picture of the Year either.
Just for the record. However, had it been, it's immaterial. It's common practice to hand out Oscars based on who has been snubbed in previous years, or who has been ignored but bedamningly insisted on being talented anyhow. Should it have been in the Documentary column? Yes, and it likely would have been.

I don't think it has anything to do with political bias so much as the sickness that is our entertainment industry.

2. Seems as if "Passion" and F9/11 "cancelled each other out"...
I've really tuned out most of these award shows ever since Millie Vinnelli got all of those Grammies...

8. I believe Passion got 3 nominations:
Cinematography, Score, and Makeup...

10. Passion deserves to be nominated for these
but definitely not best picture, best actor.

11. "What happens with F-911 now?" It keeps on going...
Currently #1 on the Netflix Documentary list; Bowling for Columbine is #2. It's slipped to #4 in Amazon Documentaries; that's pretty good for a film that's been out a while.

A co-worker just saw it & was highly enthusiastic. She's against Bush but didn't know all the background information.

Awards come & go. F-911 will keep on going--after all, aren't we still dying & killing in Iraq?
