1. They're using the DoD's absurdly conservative death numbers
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 01:12 PM by da_chimperor
I smell fuzzy math.

Edit: I think they're using DoD number at least . . . the low-ball official 'figure' I remember hearing was something around 13,000. Not sure though.

2. Oh. My. GAWD. "Dumb" just don't cover it,.

NO actually, "Since liberation, hundreds of thousands of the “disappeared” have" NOT "been found - in Iraq in mass graves."

Guess they missed out on this report;

PM admits graves claim 'untrue'

"...only about 5,000 corpses have so far been uncovered."

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/iraq/story/0,12956,1263901,00.html

Now let's assume Hussein killed the number so often spouted by bushCartel; 400,000. Ignore the fact that HRW and AI now say that figure is "vastly over-inflated".

That's over 30 years.

In less than TWO years, bush has killed off 100,000 Iraqis.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1338749,00.html

Obviously that report was missed by all the little cockroaches as well.

Do the math; who's killing more Iraqis per year?

And if Hussein was ever so much nastier than we, why is it for over a decade the Iraqi people went on with their lives under Hussein...but are now engaged in a very bloody rebellion against us?

5. I couldn't figure out WTF they got that 13,000 Iraqis killed figure...
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 12:57 PM by LynnTheDem
it's only the figure of IRAQIS KILLED DURING THE ACTUAL THREE WEEKS OF INVASION!

That's ALL! NOT ONE SINGLE IRAQI DEATH is included in that 13,000 SINCE MAY1, 2003!

:wow: Dumb??? Oh nooooo, they are so very far beyond just DUMB.

6. Lynn, Can You Supply A Link?
Can you throw a link at me as to 13K being the number of deaths only during the invasion?

I'm not doubting, I just want to see the data.

Thanks.

9. Cool, thanks.
I just don't seem to have the tough with search engines - I did a search before posting and ended up getting directed to all sorts of sites, but none directly reporting casualties.

Thanks again.

10. Here's the BBC article;
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 01:41 PM by LynnTheDem
Iraqi war deaths 'total 13,000'

About 13,000 Iraqis, including as many as 4,300 civilians, were killed during the major combat phase of the Iraq war, according to a US research group.

It says that as few as 11,000 Iraqis may have been killed in the war, or as many as 15,000 - the 13,000 being the mid-point between the two figures.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3223523.stm

And you're very welcome; sorry took me so long, I'm not great at google myself.

NOTE to the INCREDIBLY STUPID rightwingnuts; 13,000 DURING THE ACTUAL COMBAT PHASE FROM MARCH TO APRIL 2003. You incredibly stupid MFers.

4. Amazing, isn't it, how pathetically low a bar these conservatives set?
American deaths--up.

American murders--up.

American dollars spent--$6 Billion a month.

But all in all, American occupation still better for Iraqis--not for us, since Saddam wasn't a threat.

No, American occupation is better than rule by a CRAZED HOMICIDAL PSYCHOPATH but only if we count A BLOODY WAR AGAINST IRAN THAT WE ENCOURAGED AND ASSISTED HIM WITH. Some Iraqis, anyway. For the moment.

That's the argument. And it may not even be true, since nobody is counting the Iraqis killed in the invasion. But I suppose the conservatives put those deaths on Saddam for MAKING us do it.

8. Don't even ask me why I bother with that site
every once in a while my curiousity gets the best of me and I wonder if they have started to see the light. There's only a couple of liberals there, and God Bless them, they get pounded every day, I don't know how they do it. I see these people as a complete loss - they will all have to reincarnate on a lower level planet, and start all over with the "humanity" game, that's all I can figure.

11. SOME liberal (HINT!)
needs to go post Tony the bLiar admitting only 5000 remains have been found, not "hundreds of thousands", and that the "13,000" Iraqis killed is ONLY the number killed during the ACTUAL COMBAT PHASE OF INVASION APRIL 2003 TO MARCH 2003.

THREE WEEKS.

TWO YEARS AGO.

The LOWEST estimate for Iraqis killed since Day 1 of bush's supreme crime war of aggression is 40,000. That's 20K per year.

Hussein using THEIR figures of 400,000 and 20 years? 20K per year.

And under Hussein the Iraqis had FOOD AND WATER AND ELECTRICITY etc.

Gawd I despise rightwingnuts. Ignorance is no problem; but deliberate wanton STUPIDTY I can't abide.
