The root of Blueneck is Redneck, an apt and still effective epithet for racist, angry, ignorant white people.

The term redneck is NOT epitomized by the recent Jeff Foxworthy "whitewash", but rather is exemplified by the murderers in this photo:



Now, if you think that wearing a name created for you by the spiritual if not biological descendents of the evil killers in that photo is a form of empowerment or ownership, then I suggest that you have not thought this thing through.
