I am so disgusted with PBS at this moment...
Every night for the last week or so, I've seen a real commercial prior to The NewsHour starting. Not just a mention of sponsors, but a full-fledged 15-20 second commercial. Smith Barney was tonight's commercial.

Dammit, I know they need funding. Republicans have cut so much from public broadcasting.

1. Similarly, there's a brief McDonald's commercial before Sesame Street
I find that to be extremely disturbing.

Fortunately, our M.O. is to tape Sesame Street so my kid can watch it in the evening, and thus I can fast-forward through the ad.

2. I didn't think this was anything new........
....I've seen that on various PBS shows for years.
