Netflix is great. After you rate movies, it will suggest other similar ones to you.

My friend said BUSH'S BRAIN is good.

5. 'A Grave for Fireflies' not a Doc. in the true sense
it is an old Anime about 2 orphans in Japan during WW2.

I GUARANTEE it is worth your time. It is beautiful and magical. The whole family (we have 8+10 year old kids) watched it... they are still asking questions. I wish I had discovered it years ago.

6. /Run Lola Run/
It's not a documentary, but I was very impressed by this today.

I think this might be a four-movie week for me too, if I return it tommorow! You'll start knowing what I'm talking about, trying to get six movies in one week by watching them as soon as you get them (most I've had is four though).

7. Chinatown
A thinly-veiled documentary about corruption in Los Angeles in the 1930's. Jack Nicholson's best movie.

11. "Capturing the Freidmans"
Edited on Wed Jan-26-05 02:16 AM by Merusault
It's a great documentary. Kind of disturbing; it's about a father and son accused of sodomy against boys in Long Island. But it's fascinating, and if you enjoy documentaries, I can't recommend it enough.

21. Ditto on Capturing the Friedmans
I ordered it just out of curiousity, had never heard of it before. I watched the entire documentary and all its commentary straight through, something I almost never do.

14. the director of Sideways brilliant and much funnier CITIZEN RUTH
For some reason, most people weren't interested in a satire that pointed out the similarities between pro-choice and pro-life activists. Best glue sniffing role for Laura Dern ever.

is a great, but infuriating, documentary. I got it from my local rental store, recommended by the clerk when I returned the Hunting of the President 2004, also good.

Not a political documentary quite, in fact it doesn't neatly fit into any genre but it is fantastic.

Netflix has a pretty good "weird" selection as well.

You have to look for it over the hype of what they want you to rent.
