Al Queda's Economic War Against the United States
http://207.44.245.159/article7818.htm (article on InformationClearinghouse.com)

The war on radical Islam is no different. Osama bin Laden plans strategies based on his victory over the Soviets in Afghanistan during the 1980s. Feasibility aside, he believes the way to bring down a superpower is to weaken its economy through protracted guerilla warfare. We "bled Russia for ten years until it went bankrupt and was forced to withdraw in defeat," bin Laden boasted in his October 2004 videotape.

The October video, released just before the U.S. election, offers a glimpse into the jihadist strategy. "We are continuing in the same policy to make America bleed profusely to the point of bankruptcy," said bin Laden. His logic is simple: To bring the U.S. to suffer a fate similar to that of the Soviet Union, the terrorists need to drain America's resources and bring it to the point it can no longer afford to preserve its military and economic dominance. As the U.S. loses standing in the Middle East, the jihadists can gain ground and remove from power regimes they view as corrupt and illegitimate while defeating other infidels who inhabit the land of Islam.

1. who needs al-qaeda...
.. when we have Bushco, who seem to be doing a good job, all by themselves, of ruining the economy and increasing the divide between rich and poor.... and .... using al-qaeda, etc. as an -excuse- for doing so.

4. There are those who would say...
That A/Q and B/Co are two sides of the same coin. They enable each other. At least anecdotally I can see the logic.

2. um and other than funneling US tax dollars to oil & construction cos for a
fake war, how is al queda 'doing' that?

They're non-existent. They're a myth, a much needed boogie man for the bush regime.

Sure is easy to blame BUSH'S economic foreign and domestic policy disasters on AL QUEDA, now, isn't it?

"...As the U.S. loses standing in the Middle East, the jihadists can gain ground and remove from power regimes they view as corrupt and illegitimate while defeating other infidels who inhabit the land of Islam..."

Well, whaddaya know.

And Bush may as well simply hand the $80 billion he's robbing from us yet again, directly to bin Laden himself, it will speed up the process and save a few thousand lives in the process all with the same end result. Actually, maybe that's what's happening anyway... the $80 billion payouts do seem to only last a few months & our soldiers have no armor, so and it's probably going towards bin Laden's security entourage and safe passage, and future terra'ist attacks to keep us perpetually attacking. And maybe the idea is to announce a $50 million reward for bin Laden's capture, while dishing out a couple billion to make sure no one actually tries to turn him in. :tinfoilhat:

Bush is such an idiot that the bankruptcy would have happened even without jihad. The United States is just another business for him to bankrupt, his track record is business failure after failure prior to his presidency, why would anyone have expected otherwise now? And this time he's got Karl Rove for PR to cover up the mess and dupe the gullible fools who voted for him into augmenting the process.

There's an idea for "humint augmentation" (from the Pentagon/Rumsfeld story)- how about starting right here in the US.
