How far will the anti-gay thing go?
Let's see ... gays are being blamed for everything, including the 9/11 attack (God turned his back on us because of gays!)

They are being blamed for "misleading children" into their "lifestyle".

They are "carriers of disease".

There are even calls to be able to fire gays if their sexual preference is discovered at work. (go to freeperland and read any anti-gay thread if you don't believe me)

I think these folks would like to see gays arrested, 're-educated', and maybe even ... I can't even say it ...

I'm not even gay and I see these things. Soon gay bashing will no longer be considered a crime. Thoughts? Am I being too dramatic?

1. if we dont stop it, there will be pink triangles and camps.
and we'll be right there with them. I wonder what the "liberal" badge will look like? A Blue Square?

and I frankly see nothing stopping them. Fascism, once it takes hold, can only be dislodged by a more powerful force. There is no history of any fascist regime suddenly realizing their error and going in the other direction. Once that path is started, it continues to the most horrible conclusion, if left unchecked.

2. As far as we let it
Then they'll come for the atheists and freethinkers. In fact, they're starting already "It's freedom OF religion not freedom FROM religion!".

We have to draw the line here.

3. Why can't the kids decide?
Edited on Wed Jan-26-05 11:32 AM by Hizzy
Possibly the most disheartening part of this whole argument is when kids reach out to give tolerance and unity and the parents fight back. For example, in Harrisonburg, VA (where I go to JMU) the students wanted to start a Gay Straight Alliance club, which is clearly within their rights. However, the parents fought it tooth and nail for months because they thought the club would be teaching the students gay sex tricks and hate toward heterosexuals... Where in the hell would they get an idea like that? Just when we see a bit of light for the Shenandoah Valley, those bible thumpers and homophobics snuff it out....

4. You need to ask?
If allowed, there's no limit to the abyss it can descend into:

5. It's OK to discriminate against gay people...
Hell, even the President of the United States does it. <sarcasm>
