Condi's credentials qualify her to be Secretary of State...in 1965
We've just nominated a Secretary of State whose primary area of expertise is...

The Soviet Union.

Yes, that's right, the Soviet Union. A defunct country and the "great threat" of a generation ago.

Condi is a relic of the Cold War who has displayed a frightening lack of understanding of the post Cold War world.

Without a Soviet Union, Cold Warriors like Condi don't know what to do with themselves. They can't envision a world without a foil, enemy, or rival. That's why they've been busy inventing new enemies for us over the past 4 years. "Terrorists" have replaced "Communists" as the new arch villain in their fearful, outdated worldview.

And by nominating a Secretary of State for 2005, who carries a 1965 mindset, the Senate has ensured a continued course of perpetual war for perpetual peace.

4. Not even 1965 - a SOS must have world credibility and trust
and she is a proven liar, incompetent, and craven Bush apologist. She has absolutely nothing to offer except that the blivet** likes her and wants to rub his choice in everyone's face to prove he's the boss. No one in the world will trust a word she says, and if they had any sense at all, no one in this country would either. There is no way she can possibly be effective, even if her credentials were current rather than 40 years out of date.

Yet Biden, who is obviously gearing for the '08 nomination, said in a Sunday interview:
He said he would vote for Rice to replace Colin Powell as secretary of state because "she's an honorable person" and a president "gets the chance to pick the person who he thinks will implement his policies."

I can't see any excuse at all for Biden's statement. Presumably the other Dems voting for Rice and all the Repubs would say something as patently wrong.
