The attacks on the cartoons and many other things I've heard since the election. The right is trying it's hardest to turn back any progress made. They are trying to make it OK to hate and mistreat a class of people again.

They need to be called on it and we need to stand up to the bullies.

If we let the right get away with this who will be next? Remember the thing about "they came for the ...... and I did nothing because I wasn't ........"

Silence is complicity isn't it?

2. Everyone needs to stand up

Gay or not, people need to stop listening, shaking their heads, and moving on. They need to make it known that homophobia is as bad as racism. They need to stop worrying about being though of as gay because they are standing up for human rights. Because that's really what this is about: human rights.

I asked this earlier but got no response - Is any group in Virginia trying to get an "Equal Rights for All" license plate passed in the legislation? The fundies are pushing for a "Traditional Marriage" plate and I think we need to have one as well.

I have always resisted paying extra for a vanity plate but THAT is one I would be willing to pay extra for, and proudly sport on my vehicle!

7. Have no fear. Unite and fight.

It's not use to fear fascism. Fascism must be fought. I've been studying the slaughter of 300,000 progressives in Indonesia in 1965 by a CIA-instigated fundamentalist/rightist horde. The problem there was a lack of proper organization of the left. No one was prepared for the actions of the right. The ran and pled for mercy and it was no use. Mercy should never be shown to nor expected of one's enemies.
