3. Thank you, sara!
I guess, Bayh is the big surprise here!

12 Dem Senators plus Jeffords were able to give a protest "no" for history..we'll see how this plays out!

8. Bayh needs a few creds with the real left for his 2008 run
That is why he is there. Anyone else in the list look odd? Probably ramping up for 2008. The surprise to me is that Feingold IS NOT there against the Condifirmation.

9. I think I understand Feingold because
of what I read about his explanation of why he voted yes on ashcroft..

He said he thought whomever was president(sic) had the right to have who they wanted for their cabinet members.

So, it's different trains of thought here.

11. A lesson from Bayh, maybe?
Bayh's got a lot to answer for, but maybe there is a lesson we can learn. If you read his statement on the floor of the senate, Bayh basically said that condi was incompetent--he didn't say he was against the war in Iraq, but that she wasn't doing a good job in carrying it out. Now, I'm sure lots of us have a problem with his reasoning BUT (here me out before flaming... please) remember that Bayh lives in deep deep deep red state. How does he get those people to vote for him... like this. My husband - a Republican -- voted for Kerry not because Bush is evil (which we know that he is) but because he is incompetent. At the end of the day - My husband voted for Kerry and Bayh voted no, even if we don't like the reasoning. Maybe we, as democrats, need to learn to how to couch the arguments in terms that the mod Repubs and independants can swallow, even if we believe that the reasons for doing something are stronger. Its not about belief... its about message. Just a thought.

Either that, or the lesson is, I'm running for president and all these votes will come out the primary. Probably more like it, but no is no!

7. Thank you. Incompetence will not be ignored.
Many people are dying and their happiness bas been trashed in exchange for the chance to control the economic rise of China, and for enslaving the future of this country to Wars, W's fantasy 4 more years. Socialism for military industrial complex to root in middle-class job base(s). Have you seen the figures about growth in government during W's reign?

I will thank the list you've posted here.
