How many times did * mention Bill Clinton
in his press conference today? I believe he said at least once "like Clinton" comparing himself to Clinton tells me he knows he is in big trouble. What do you think? Just a thought on my part.

1. Must've been in reference to Social Security
I'm sure he only mentions the Big dog's name when he's depserate, as you say.

4. Well, now Bill is his cheif friend and defender lately.
Unlike Carter who had the guts to call Bush what he is, Clinton has been kissing Bush's ass lately. And so has Hillary. I guess they are all cut from the same cloth.

2. I heard twice. Funny, he'd NEVER mention Clinton by name before...
it was always "my predecessor". Except NOW he's trying to use him in support of his agenda on Social Security--as if what Clinton had said is the same sort of thing that he wants to do.

3. Three times (it seemed like more though)
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/01/20050126-3.html

I will begin -- begin -- I will continue that process with the State of the Union address. And then I look forward to taking off shortly thereafter and traveling around the country discussing this issue -- similar to what President Clinton did. President Clinton highlighted the issue as an issue that needed to be addressed, and an issue that needed to be solved. He fully recognized, like I recognize, that it's going to require cooperation in the House and the Senate. And in anticipation of this moment, obviously, you might remember, we brought together a distinguished group of our citizens to analyze the issue and they came forth with some very interesting ideas.

.
.
.
.
THE PRESIDENT: Continue to speak to the American people. Right after my State of the Union, I think I'm going to four or five states to continue to address this issue. You know, I can remember President Clinton doing the same thing on Social Security. I thought he was very effective in teeing up the issue, of making the case. And I will do the same thing. There is a -- in terms of whether the economy is growing or not, there is a -- the jobs are increasing, the forecast looks strong. Obviously, there are some things we need to do to make sure that America is a good place to continue to risk capital and invest. That's why I'm urging the Congress to pass legal reform.

7. Thats what I thought
But they used Clinton as the reason they had to bring back moral values back into the white house in the 2000 election didn't they? Sounds like they will use anybody or anything as long as it serves their purpose.:kick:

5. Considering the fact that once again, he only told a
half truth, I'd say he thinks he's in trouble with the SS issue. Had he told the whole truth, he'd also indicate that Clinton was adamently AGAINST the whole privatization plan. He's banking on the fact that people will forget that.

They demonize Clinton, and the next thing you see, is that * wants to be associated somehow with him.

Hmmm. Why? Perhaps it has to do that people liked and trusted Clinton. And they don't shrub.
