Why is Dean held accountable for every thing he says about the . . .
war in Iraq and Bush is not!!!!!

I was watching the Today Show this morning and CNN tonight and both the whore Republican shills (Matt on NBC and Paula on CCN) gave really difficult interviews with Dean about the Iraq war.

Hey, this guy isn't accountable for this fucking mistake but they are interviewing him as if he were!!!

Give me a break, Dean still tries to come up with solutions to Bush's stupid, arrogant, aggressive mistake.

1. It's because
Dean is the frontrunner, the media lean right (well, the owners do, and the reporters mostly do, and the others don't want to get fired), the media want controversy to get ratings, and it is not safe to hassle a sitting president because it pisses off lots of 'Mericans.

3. That really is a point

If there aren't enough foreign troops to actually replace our troops, he shouldn't have said it. He really should have known. BUT

that is so nothing compared to Bush's idiotic statements. Maybe that should be something the candidates ought to start saying to the reporters.... Don't you think you ought to be demanding answers from George Bush too? He's the only one that can actually do anything about all of this over the next year.

9. the only reason there aren't enough foreign troops to replace our troops…
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 07:47 PM by pruner
is that Bush has alienated the leaders of all the countries who could supply those troops.

as Dean pointed out, there were plenty of foreign troops in the coalition Bush I built.

Paula made it sound as though all the world only has a total of 20,000 troops to send, and Bush II has snagged every last one of them.

11. Yes, I believe he said Bush I had 60+ thousand troops in GWI
Correct if I am wrong. I have it on tape, but still recording. Will check.

14. Afghanistan
Kosovo, other commitments. This isn't 1991. I've heard plenty of generals say there just aren't the number of troops available around the world to go to Iraq and actually replace US troops. Add to them so there is more security, yes. Actually replace troops, no.

But other countries could contribute money and that is as important as the troops. And having UN authorization changes it from a US occupation to a UN peacekeeping action. It changes the dynamic of the situation and that's the most important thing.

12. I will rewind the tape and check, I missed the Klein part.
It did not sound as though Dean was wrong, though.

4. I'm glad to see Dean in tough interviews
He handles them very well, much better since the MTP days. He makes his points with clear language, and confronts the president directly. The softball interviews make him repeat his stump speech. Harder interviews give him ample chances to discuss issues beyond his usual agenda.

Kudos to Dean for doing an excellent job today.

5. this applies to all democrats on ALL things
they don't hold bush accountable for anything. just compare this administration to bill clinton's. look at how they focused on something as non important as a blow job compared to something like war.

8. He's the front runner and he's holding his own.
I also find it amusing how Democrats are supposed to know how to fix the problems that Republicans have created.

13. Get use to it ... this is war through the elections...they will lie, cheat
and steal their way into power. And once there, they waste no time in following the needs of thier corporate puppetmasters.

16. I'd rather see Katie Couric than Matt L.
interviewing political candidates--or they should take turns, to be "fair and balanced."
