1. AOL is a pretty typical cross-section of Americans
If an overwhelming majority of AOL users think Bush is screwing up in Iraq... then that just makes me doubt further that our last elections were accurate.

2. Time for a red alert..booga,booga,booga..terrust.terrust,terrust..oh yeah,
the election is over so most likely they won't even bother with the alerts anymore to divert the good citizens minds.

3. looks like a byatch-slap to me.
wow.

I think he screwed up HORRIBLY for not pretending to be humble and to care today. I was the WORST, most OFFENSIVE, behavior I have seen from him, if I think about it too much I'll have to go to the batting cage.

This ASSHOLE, THIS PRICK, didn't even have the decency to pretend to CARE about these people. Term limits sure can affect an attitude, can't they?

4. Is there a thread on the Zogby poll which said today that 31% of
Americans are "ashamed" that * is President? Up 6% since December. I don't know whether to be heartened by this or to conclude that 6 out of 10 Americans have no shame...

8. Conclude Dark Days Ahead
People aren't feeling this war yet. They still want desperately to believe our government is good and wouldn't launch a war of deliberate aggression where we're the "bad guys". First we were "liberating" these poor Iraqis, and now we're "assisting them"...that the "real" cause for this invasion was to somehow install "democracy", like you can uncrate it out of a box ready-made.

I'm starting to believe this is the result of a generation that grew up in total self-indulgence...being led to think America right or wrong by the wrong people and now trying to sort out how they really feel.

Right now I see so little real outrage...many of us keep it to ourselves as we're all but shell-shocked from years of right wing and now MSM assault. I don't see the real protests or civil strife I saw during the Vietnam era...at least not yet. We're gonna need a lot more coffins and a lot more financial pain before we see a real change in this country.

7. Can someone explain to me how it is that of those polled
76% believe the war in Iraq has not been worth the human cost and 74% would rate Bush's handling of Iraq as poor, and since 44% of those polled say that they have felt this way since the beginning of the war and 39% say they support it less, how is it he won election?
