"F*CK BUSH" sticker drives cop over edge.
Sticker stuck in cop's craw

He's subject of probe after coming unglued over bumper theme

By Brian D. Crecente, Rocky Mountain News
January 25, 2005

A Denver police sergeant is under investigation for allegedly threatening to arrest a woman Monday for displaying on her truck a derogatory bumper sticker about President Bush.

"He told her that this was a warning and that the next time he saw her truck, she was going to be arrested if she didn't remove the sticker," said Alinna Figueroa, 25, assistant manager of The UPS Store where the confrontation took place. "I couldn't believe it."

Denver police have initiated an investigation into the alleged incident, said Police Chief Gerry Whitman. He declined to comment further.

About 11 a.m., Shasta Bates, 26, was standing in the shopping center store in the 800 block of South Monaco Parkway when a man walked in and started arguing with her about a bumper sticker on the back of her truck that had "F--- Bush" in white letters on a black background.

"He was saying it was very sick and wrong and you shouldn't be doing that," Bates said. "He was very offended by it. I said, 'You didn't have to take it so personally.' "

I don't give a damn if he did take it personally.

He used his job to intimidate a woman. I would have told him to arrest me and then I would have had his tiny head. Both tiny heads.

3. He won't be feeling that way next time he faces an AK-47
Of course, he probably doesn't have that problem in his neck of the woods. I'm just sayin'

4. Wait six months. There will be thousands of "Fuck Bush" stickers. Many
who are now in ranks of that freeperzoid cop will be sporting them on their vehicles.

5. I would have told the cop to get the fuck out of my face
And then I'd have told him to arrest me so I could sue his ass for all he's worth. I'd tell I'd take his house, his car, and every fucking dime he had. And then I'd find him when he's homeless on the street and fucking spit on him.

I'm sure that would have calmed the situation down.

I probably wouldn't actually say that.

7. Question from a non-American
Did such things happen under Clinton? I guess it's two questions: were "Fuck Clinton" stickers to be seen on cars, and would police have behaved likewise?

Bonus question: to what extent is this due to all the faux patriotism people feel compelled to display (or, I guess, enforce) because of 9-11, and to what extent is this simply a right-wing thing to do?

10. I don't remember seeing any but...

...there were quite a few "He's not my President" stickers to be seen regarding Clinton.

Cheers,
Kim

8. And yet, I bet he has no problem with Calvin "pissing" on a Ford
I don't know if anyone here has driven through Georgia (or anywhere that NASCAR is big), but those window stickers with Calvin (of Calvin and Hobbs) pissing on the Ford or Chevy symbol, ARE illegal in Georgia. Georgia has a Law against putting a sticker on your car or "vehicle," that shows, ah, Urination. :dunce:

Sorry, don't mean to get so "High falootin' Medical" on ya, but we do have that law, but for some reason, it never seams to get enforced. :dunce: :freak:

16. Lots of "cops" are already "on the edge" mentally.
The are looking for reasons to go off. If this person had been a black male, she probably would have been shot.
