2. Disagree about the king part. I think most americans want a pres
that they can be proud of. But I think that often they think when others (especially those outside the US) say bad things about the pres that they are attacking America and that makes them mad.

they have full heraldic achievements as their logos...

Yeah, I think there is a flirt going on with regency--it's so tied to church.

5. During the Reagan administration, I read an op-ed in which
it was suggested that we should get someone competent to be president and keep Reagan as king, so he could go around cutting ribbons on bridges and sponsoring equestrian competitions.

10. For millions of Rethug dupes, GW Bush = John John Kennedy Jr
I think Phil has something here, something that's rarely been mentioned the last four or five years. It's no accident that Dubya is the son of a President. Rethugs especially have been jealous of the Kennedy family mystique, ever since 1960. When they talk about Jeb's turn and George P. Bush's turn sometime in the future, they're yearning for a US Royal Family, and perhaps reluctantly settling for Bushes, in the absence of any other contenders.

11. Yeah, the ancient Israelites wanted a king, too
And Samuel warned them about what God told him:

"These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen, and to run before his chariots; and he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plow his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his courtiers. He will take your male and female slaves, and the best of your cattle and donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take one-tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves."

1 Sam 8:11-17

Isn't it strange how little the fundy Republicans know about the Bible?

14. Fundiethink puts Clinton in the role of that king in the scripture you
quote.

These Cristohypocrites know the bible fairly well, but the tend to use double standards in their judgement of people.
