5. I spent
23 years on active duty and if they want a 61 year old I would go. Yes I have thought about this a lot.

6. so you believe this is a morally justified war?
I'm not attacking. Just asking if you believe we can bring democracy to Iraq through a military takeover.

I do believe that we needed do what we have done. I have a lot of reasons, but time does not permit me to get detailed right now. I need to get to work, I will try and post some later today.

Several soldier older than your age are in Iraq. Maybe you can change
places with a soldier who doesn't want to die for bush's steaming pile of bullshit in an illegal immoral Supreme Crime war of aggression slaughtering a nation that hadn't been doing a damn thing to us or anyone else.

That would be a wonderful thing for you to do.

18. We need to demand a pull out on January 31.
Declare victory in Iraq and start bringing the troops home.

We forced them to have a bogus election. We leveled cities, ruined infrastructure, killed more than 100,000 and maimed twice as many. We've inspired a new generation of outgraged Muslims. We've sacrificed 1400 of our soldiers, and hundreds from other countries. We've spent close to $200 billion to create chaos at home and abroad.
We've turned the world against us.

Our job in Iraq is complete.

Let's claim victory and go home.

8. A significant fraction of that NO vote
would probably ACT (if not vote) in behalf of an authentic ideal.

(I can't WAIT to see Bush's Faith-based Selective Servive Board in action).

9. Yes. I would. However, Bush's war is not creating ANY democracy there.

10. Definitely NOT
If it were a "just" conflict, and there was a true need for middle-aged women with arthritis and heart problems to serve, I would perhaps be more inclined to say yes. However, any war started under a puke and his minions will never be a just war, and I want nothing to do with it. :)

12. Since when was there a battle over democracy in Iraq??
All sides agree that there needs to be elections. The problem is a fucking great army of foreigners is occupying their country and smashing it to pieces.

The insurgency exists to get rid of the Americans, not to stop democracy.

14. Zarqawi has declared war against democracy
Of course, this assumes that the mythical Zarqawi actually exists and isn't just a convenient boogeyman.

16. Even if he does exist, he's not an Iraqi.
He's a hired gun from Jordan according to the legend, and if the Americans got out of Iraq he'd have no reason to be there.

17. How about THIS for a poll question:
"Would you be willing to sacrifice your own life to create a democracy in AMERICA?"

Seeing as how we've pretty much screwed up the one we used to have, I say we need to worry about our own before we ever do anything to create one elsewhere.

20. I wonder how many of those 10% . . .
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 10:04 AM by Jack Rabbit
. . . are serving or have any plans on doing so.

I wonder how much of that 10% think that the poor are cannon fodder for the rich.

I wonder how much of that 10% think democracy is synonomous with global capitalism.

I wonder how much of that 10% still think that Saddam was a threat to the US.
