Bush does it again...
"All our Cabinet secretaries must realize that we will not be paying commentators to advance our agenda," Bush said at a news conference. "Our agenda ought to be able to stand on its own two feet." The president said he expects his agency heads will "make sure that that practice doesn't go forward."

If I commit a crime do I get to tell the judge that I won't do it again to get out of it... No.

What's sad is that the American public and media will buy this bullshit. Once again, if Clinton or Kerry did this they would be eaten alive for weeks. But, when stupid, funny looking bush does it, everyone says "oh okay, just don't let it happen again".

I really hate what this country has become.

1. "Will not be"
as in future tense. So, just forget about it. Get over it. Move on.

:grr:

2. So I guess now the media gets paid directly by RNC and friends of Bush?
that should make our media better - say even more credible.

8. Amazing that the RW is not satisfied with a reprint service - wants media
to push the GOP lies!

And $25 seems cheap for a GOP donation request - I wonder if the GOP really has their heart in this pretend.

4. Two words.
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 11:24 AM by skypilot
There are two words that I would like to see enter the American peoples' discussion about the way things are today: national character.

Do people stop to think about what all this lying and bullshit does to the national character? These Bush supporters go on about "values" all the time but how the hell can they practice any kind of values when they--and the people they support--have such lousy character and they are infecting the country with it?

5. It's already happened again
It's happening now, and it will happen for the next 4 years. What's going to change is the secrecy of the payoff methods. Cash only, laundered squeaky clean.

7. Right.
He's basically admitting that 1) it happens and he knew about it, and 2) the only reason they are answering for it is because they got caught.

9. I think the hidden message here is...
our 'cabinet secretaries must realize we will not be paying commentators'. That's code speak for certain people won't do it, but everyone else is free to pay off the media on my behalf.
