Muddling SpongeBob: Gay or straight?

-snip-

A "homosexuality detection expert" at the similarly conservative Family Research Council told the NY Times that words like "tolerance" and "diversity" are part of a "coded language that is regularly used by the homosexual community."

Of course tolerance and diversity are buzz words used by the homosexual community! It worked for the civil rights movement and the sufferage movement, why not use those words.

8. Good Lord
So "tolerance" is a code word now. And Falwell knows Tinky Winky is gay because of subtle clues in the costume - the triangular headpiece and the purse-like accessory.

This is typical conspiracy-nut logic. LOOK FOR THE HIDDEN CLUES. WE KNOW THE MASONS ARE RUNNING THE WORLD BECAUSE THEY PUT CLUES ON THE BACK OF THE DOLLAR BILL. FOR SOME REASON. BECAUSE THEY'RE TRYING TO BE CUTE, I GUESS.

And we know the gays are everywhere.. infiltrating... taking over... Because we can read the hidden clues...

15. Family Research Council=Nazi Non-Aryan Detectors
Just like the Nazis had experts that could tell you that Jews had large noses and didn't smell like Aryans.

Some here may feel uneasy about the comparisons to the Nazis, but I'm sure that a lot of people thought that the Nazis were harmless in the beginning also.

We need to put the name to groups like these and make it stick.

16. Damn, The Secret Is Out. As a "Homosexual Detection Expert", I Will
Provide you with an insider's account of how we detect the quee-ahs.

The following is a list of "Gay Buzz Words" that indicate a sinister plot by the homosexual agenda is in the works.

- Diversity
- Tolerance
- Love
- Equality
- Acceptance
- Open-mindedness
- Fairness
- Justice
- Free-thinking

Any examples of these words or anything that they describe must be destroyed if we are going to save our children from becoming dreaded quee-ahs.

Other signs of gayness:

- The color purple
- Purses
- Triangles
- Excessive happiness
- Singing
- Well-dressed men
- Burkinstocks
- Tree-hugging

There is much more, and I obviously can't put it all in one post as this is much more than a science, it is an art. Do you think that it is easy to root out these gay cartoon characters? NO! Certainly not. But once I saw Spongebob Squarepants doing unnatural things with a box turtle, there could be no doubt.

- Diversity
- Tolerance
- Love
- Equality
- Acceptance
- Open-mindedness
- Fairness
- Justice
- Free-thinking
- The color purple
- Purses
- Triangles
- Excessive happiness
- Singing
- Well-dressed men

And the list goes on and on. My Ph.D. professor just got a laugh on that last one, since she did just that very thing when saving a tree. I know her "husband" got a laugh out of it.

18. tom kenny is a riot
saw him on conan a while back. he said the SB voice was borrowed from one of santa's elves he overheard at the mall swearing backstage about the hours and kids he had to deal with.

SpongeBob, being both a sponge and a cartoon, uses the voice of East Syracuse native Tom Kenny to do his singing and Mr Kenny scoffed at the allegation.

"SpongeBob" told the Post-Standard:
"I could maybe see it their way if this was a video with Barbra Streisand and Madonna and Judy Garland," Kenny said, a tongue-in-cheek reference to performers who supposedly have large gay followings. "We're talking about cartoon characters here, and these people are just trying to make a video that (says) it's a positive, good thing to be respectful of people different than you.

"Let me ask you, who would you rather go bowling with, SpongeBob and his friends or the Rev. James Dobson? Who would you rather go out with and have a few beers? Probably the only common ground I have with the Rev. James Dobson is that I haven't seen the video, and I'll bet he hasn't either. All he knows (Kenny dropped into an angry backwoods voice) is that it's a little yellow guy full of holes who's saying it's OK for men to be with men.

"It's very entertaining. The entertainment industry could use more people with that kind of wild imagination."

I have an old segment from one of the standup comedy shows he did on MTV back in the late 80s early 90s. It was at Pepperdine University and was absolutely hysterical.

Cool. Now I have even more reasons to like him.

24. Of course "Tolerance" is coded language.
When you decipher the code, it says: "The capacity for recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others." Like it or not, history makes it clear that the overall thrust of christian history (as well as non-christian history) shows an undeniable *lack* of tolerance.

Going one step deeper, it might be worth remembering what George Washington wrote about tolerance (note especially the last sentence):

"The Citizens of the United States of America have a right to applaud themselves for having given to mankind examples of an enlarged and liberal policy: a policy worthy of imitation. All possess alike liberty of conscience and immunities of citizenship. It is now no more that toleration is spoken of, as if it was by the indulgence of one class of people, that another enjoyed the exercise of their inherent natural rights."

So, Washington didn't even want to allow a subtle implication of tolerance - that it was some benevolent gift of one class to another - but rather wanted to make the point that peoples rights are 'natural' and inherent.

Exercising tolerance is not a gift, it's an damn obligation. Receiving tolerance is not a gift, it's a damn right.

If those statements were true in fact, rather than just in principle, the entire world would be different. Praise of 'liberty' is empty and false without a willingness to accept the obligation real tolerance places on us.

26. "homosexual community" is coded language
I think that what these people really are against is the idea of racial equality. Since they can't just come out as anti-black, anti-Jew, anti-Muslim etc., they've found a way to teach hatred with societal approval.

27. The real agenda is not just homophobia (that's a given), but to
discredit the very principles of tolerance. It's hard to promote fascism if the prevailing culture believes in a live and let live philosophy. Homophobia is just a means to an end.

***************** Begin Transmission ***************

News Flash:

Dateline: Bikini Bottom Proving Grounds, Noplace, Nowhere (Jan 28, 2005)

The Bikini Bottom Defense Forces today announced the development of
the Shoulder Launched Anti-GAYDAR Missile or (SLAGM). The device
homes in on the waves of Homophobia emanating from a Homosexual
Detection Expert or (HDE) and then detonates. Exposing the HDE
to lethal doses of reality.

Coming soon is the Naval Anti-GAYDAR Missile (NAGM). Which works
in very much the same way as the SLAGM. But, which plays Queen
"We Are The Champions" at an ear shattering volume for effect
just before detonation.

45. Oh yeah?
Well for some reason I still don't know, the gay community has bestowed me (at birth it seems) with the MOST AMAZING GAYDAR KNOWN TO HUMANKIND and you know what it picks up?

SERIOUS pings when I look at a lot of right wing and right wing fundie people.

Yep. It goes off on DEFCOM 10 when I look at things like the republican national convention. The ringing in my head from watching that lasted for days.

So who are they to talk about what?

their expert says the word "tolerance" is a gay red flag raiser...

well...how do they explain this...?

pResident BushCO:
You know, Bob, I don't know. I just don't know. I do know that we have a choice to make in America and that is to treat people with tolerance and respect and dignity...
Source Here
-----------------------
And here he uses the word "diversity"

In his remarks Wednesday, the president captured some of the divide by asserting that "higher education should reflect our diversity..."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-01-15-inside-affirm-usat_x.htm
-----------------------

So...does this expert think that pResident BushCo is Gay...? Or he is secretly telling kids that being gay is "ok"...

What a bunch of loonies...!

50. I'd almost say "Family Research Council" is coded language for bigoted
homophobic assholes, but I like to think I'm more tolerant of diversity than that.

People say, get away, somebody will turn you in
Life, life without surrender
Togetherness... ecstasy is what I need
I can laugh, but I should cry
When love and understanding are the ultimate crimes

be it Christian, Muslim or other. And the loathing of tolerance and diversity is mandatory behavior with the KKK and Nazi types.

Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 08:46 PM by superconnected
"words like tolerance" and "diversity" are part of a "coded language that is regularly used by the homosexual community."

Tell me we are not dealing with nazis! They're trying to make them words the average person won't use because of gay association. It's becaues they want to get rid of tolerance and diveristy so they start by association with the words.

AAAGGGGGGGGGG! This isn't an accident. It's sophisticated psychology and they know exactly what they are doing.

Remember how Michael Moore became a trigger word that made all Republicans suddenly have deep hatred, just by hearing his name, and never having seens his movies or read his books? That was no accident. They also did it by association. That is why gays should be very afraid of this. Look how powerfully moores name was used to drum up rage in their supporters. Now diversity and tolerance will drum up the hatered they have for gays. Watch how this ends up.

When they started naming things like "Healthy Forests" you knew they were on to nlp and that whole branch of psychology.

I'm proud to practice "tolerance" and "diversity." Matter-of-fact, I practice this daily while dealing with my cats, dog, family, society in general, and the :puke: Idiot-Idealogies of Right-Wingy-Dingys!

All of us should place these words in our meta-tags and really drive um' nuts! IF that's possible, since obviously they're already there!

Honestly! I have to check their blogs more often. At the very least, they're good for a laugh!

90. Would "The SpongBob-inator" be approved?
When I click links to articles about SpongeBob's "proclivity", they always show an image of the little fellow "dancing" or something with his arms in the air, suggesting that this is Gay behavior.

So I started thinking how Bob could rehabilitate his image. Maybe show him wearing a bullet belt, shades and carrying an M16.

Then I started wondering... WHY WOULD THAT BE BETTER? A gun-toting violent Bob on the rampage killing Commies (or terrorists in todays' world) with a gun-belt and dark sun glasses.

Would we hear any outrage from these religious groups then???
"Sponge Bob is exposing my child to violence and murder!"

I highly doubt it. :(

97. What does this expert use for detection
Judy Garland records? If a large group forms to sing along with "The Trolley Song" do we go on Lavender Alert?

Okay, everybody!

~ALL~
Clang ,clang, clang went the trolley
Ding, ding, ding went the bell
Zing, zing, zing went my heartstrings as we started for Huntington Dell.
Chug, chug, chug went the motor
Bump, bump, bump went the brake
Thump, thump, thump went my heartstrings as we glided for Huntington Lake.
The day was bright, the air was sweet
The smell of honeysuckle charmed me off my feet
I tried to sing, but couldn't squeak
In fact I felt so good I couldn't even speak
Buzz, buzz, buzz went the buzzer
Time to all disembark,
Time to fall went my heartstrings as we got off at Huntington Park
As we got off at Huntington Park.

~Judy~
With my high-starched collar, and my high-topped shoes
And my hair piled high upon my head
I went to lose a jolly hour on the Trolley and lost my heart instead.
With his light brown derby and his bright green tie
He was quite the handsomest of men
I started to yen, so I counted to ten the I counted to ten again
Clang, clang, clang went the trolley
Ding, ding, ding went the bell
Zing, zing, zing went my heartstrings
From the moment I saw him I fell
Chug, chug, chug went the motor
Bump, bump, bump went the brake
Thump, thump, thump went my heartstrings
When he smiled I could feel the car shake
He tipped his hat, and took a seat
He said he hoped he hadn't stepped upon my feet
He asked my name, I held my breath
I couldn't speak because he scared me half to death
Chug, chug, chug went the motor
Plop, plop, plop went the wheels
Stop, stop, stop went my heartstrings
As he started to go then I started to know how it feels
When the universe reels

~All~
The day was bright, the air was sweet
The smell of honeysuckle charmed you off your feet
You tried to sing, but couldn't squeak
In fact, you loved him so you couldn't even speak

~Judy~
Buzz, buzz, buzz went the buzzer
Plop, plop, plop went the wheels
Stop, stop, stop went my heartstrings
As he started to leave I took hold of his sleeve with my hand
And as if it were planned he stay on with me
And it was grand just to stand with his hand holding mine
To the end of the line

Had someone not posted and pushed this back to the front, I would have missed this...and been a better person for not knowing just how incredibly stupid people can be...

Having seen this, I feel brain cells have died, never to be replaced.

Truly, I feel dumb just having read the article.

Day gawds...how miserable these people must be! I hope they have a keeper just to prevent them from walking out in front of a car...for they surely do not possess the sense to do so themselves.
