{{{satire}}} Virulent disease alert {{{satire}}}
This just in...Virulent disease alert

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of sexually transmitted disease. This disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior. The disease is called Gonorrhea lectim (pronounced "gonna re-elect him").

Many victims have contracted it after having been screwed for the past 4 years, in spite of having taken measures to protect themselves from this especially troublesome disease. Cognitive sequelae of individuals infected with Gonorrhea lectim include, but are not limited to:

Anti-social personality disorder traits;
delusions of grandeur with a distinct messianic flavor;
chronic mangling of the English language;
extreme cognitive dissonance;
inability to incorporate new information;
pronounced xenophobia;
inability to accept responsibility for actions;
exceptional cowardice masked by acts of misplaced bravado;
uncontrolled facial smirking;
ignorance of geography and history;
tendencies toward creating evangelical theocracies; and,
a strong propensity for categorical, all-or nothing behavior.

The disease is sweeping Washington. Naturalists and epidemiologists are amazed and baffled that this malignant disease originated only a few years ago in a Texas Bush.

What's the Cure?!!!!

I like "electorially transmitted" rather than "sexually transmitted" but what the heck.

9. Anybody know the copyright
rules on email stuff like this? Wouldn't want to publish something and have the original author come after me. At what point does it become public domain? What constitutes due diligence when trying to find the original source?

10. I think once stuff like that starts floating around the internet
all bets are off. I personally received three copies of this same email, one to each email address. I don't think there is a problem with it.

11. Sorry, I am clueless on that.
Wish I could be of more help. Just to let you know, there was no copyright notation on the email and/or warning not to reproduce.

12. Yeah, but
if someone along the line edited the copyright info it would still be a problem. Is there a forum or group that addresses this issue?

14. I always understood that it was okay to
publish anything you received in an email, providing it was written by the person who sent it out, since it's become part of the public domain.

17. I believe I heard it on Randi Rhodes show last week
I believe it was a caller saying it as a joke. Not this complete of a delivery, but I distinctly recall the gonna-reelect-him part.
