"Red State Road Trip" Videos... Funny!
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 06:07 PM by DougieZero
http://www.truthout.org/multimedia.htm <--- check out both parts and I'm sure they will update it a every few days with a new one.

I guess if you are non-political, you tell people your a Bush supporter by default. I was talking to a cashier at the grocery store the other day. She was telling me all these liberal things she believes in and then says "... That's why I support Bush".

7. Stupid, probably not... Uninformed, YES!
They have no idea what Bush and the Republican Party stands for...
Though I have to say, it is kind of refreshing to see that these
people understand what is good for the nation, even if their votes
don't reflect it.

4. Absolutely jaw-dropping
This series seems to be very well done. I look forward to seeing many more. Unfortunately, I am sure they will also be full of total idiots just like these people.

I'm beginning to see what the Democratic Party is truly up against.

:wow:

8. Jaw-dropping is right
I've only watched the first one, and it was absolutely stunning. I felt the urge to grab some of those interviewees by the throat and exhort them to wake the @#%& UP!!!!

The people they interviewed in the first segment are not knuckle-dragging mouth breathers. They seemed like reasonably intelligent people who could be informed and made aware of the truth.

What the hell is going on here? How can these people be so deluded? How can they believe what they say they believe, yet still act so dramatically against their words by voting as they did??

Jaw-dropping indeed. :wow:

11. OK, so I watched the second one
:wow: :wow: :wow:

I'm almost speechless.

To me, this hints at how close this last election really was. Our key issues are important to the majority of people; they're just overshadowed whenever there's a war on. Not that that's unreasonable--it just seems a little convenient to go to war by choice and wind up winning a close election.

Without 9/11 and Iraq, approval rating trends show that Bush would have lost BIG in 2004. Without the "armed conflict backdrop", these people would likely have been swing voters that tended democratic (if they even freaking voted. Sheesh. How can you hold your own infant and glibly proclaim that you did not VOTE?!?)

George Soros needs to buy us a TV network so we can air a regular show on this theme called "Actually, I'm a Red State Liberal."

5. Just makes you shake your head
Obviously, the message isn't getting out. Calling these people stupid isn't going to help. Uninformed, yes.

We need to get better at getting out our message in SOME way. There HAS to be a way.

...obviously Democrats aren't getting the message out.

A full-fledged public education campaign is in order.

10. We can't afford a political off season. Work must start now.
Perhaps monthly mass mailings or TV ads could be used. They could be sent from the office of some local respected Democrat if possible.

Perhaps the party could identify a few districts for special attention.

13. The DLC types would have you think America is just turning to the right.
This makes it clear many Americans have no idea what they are making decisions about and tend to support progressive ideas in spite of voting for Neo Cons like lemmings against their own interests.

12. Reminds me of how Dean has a point.
We shouldn't right off the red states. They are full of caring, decent individuals that just don't have access to a variety of information. This really opened my eyes, I really love those people.

Perhaps we should make a point of trying to help the red states instead of just putting them down all the time.
