ABC News: PBS Cartoon pulled because of "Lesbian Mothers" in episode |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 06:55 PM by 48percenter
Okay, I am frothing -- ABC News just had a clip about a cartoon from PBS (Buster Bunny?) that had a segment about two families in Vermont that happened to be two lesbian couples. It was pulled, which delighted the "religious right," the spokeswoman said "Americans don't want their tax dollars promoting this kind of lifestyle."
To which I screamed at the TV, "honey, I don't want my TAX DOLLARS supporting the RELIGIOUS RIGHT FUNDY agenda!!" God these people are freaks...I am sick to death of their homophobic, bigoted, narrow-minded ideals.

1. It's even more outrageous when you learn what the actual series was |
|
Andrew Sullivan has the details on his blog www.andrewsullivan.com
Basically the series is supposed to be about Buster the Bunny traveling throughout the US and being introduced to people in every state in the country, in all kinds of environments - urban, rural, suburban and ALL kinds of different families and ethnicities. In some episodes he was to visit a Muslim family, in one episode he's to go to Utah and visit a Mormon family. There are episodes where he visits single-parent homes and ones where he visits orphans.
In short, it's a comprehensive view of all kinds of different families and backgrounds.
