Ashcroft says nuclear war threat is our biggest danger
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 08:04 PM by superconnected
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=6&u=/ap/20050127/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/ashcroft_interview

"U.S. officials "from time to time" uncover evidence terrorists are trying to develop nuclear capability, Ashcroft said without providing any specifics. It is not clear whether they have made any progress, but the United States must take the threat seriously, he said in an interview with The Associated Press. "
.
.
.
"The president understands that this is almost mission impossible, to keep winning every day," he said. "To be always the winner and never be the loser is a very difficult task. The world is not absent terror. But the United States has been absent terror."

"His greatest failure, Ashcroft said, was in not fully explaining to the American people early on just how the Patriot Act has helped in that war. Time will prove that the law has not been the threat to the Constitution seen by some, he said.

"Rights have not been infringed. Human dignity has not suffered. It's been enhanced and it has not carried a cost or toll on the civil liberties of America," Ashcroft said. "

now where would they get nukes from... oh iran and syria.

yeah, lets scare americans into another war.

After all, it worked for iraq.

And you can bet the next version of the patriot act is about to be unveiled.

3. Nothing like scaring the bejesus out of the base, hey?
Geez, I don't know. I think maybe the greatest threat is WMD in Iraq. Whoops. That didn't work. Oh, yeah, that's right. Anthrax. Oops. Wrong again. Oh, hold on a sec. Tom Ridge said the biggest threat was bioterrorism and/or somehow interfering with our food supply. Yeah, that's it. Bioterrorism. Or nuclear war. Or WMD.

Well, I don't know about you, but I think the greatest threat is from alien invasion. Hey, it's about as likely as any of the scenarios put out by these madmen.

4. Yawn.
They aren't even original. These same scare tactics have been used since the cold war during the fifties. Why do they want to take us back there?

9. This is just noise...
this is not the 'Noble lie' the neo-cons will tell to take us to war with Iran. This statement coming from Asscrack is just filler to keep the heat up until they dump the brand new, and improved lie on us.

10. This has been the case for the last 50 years and thanks to our
proliferation and ignoring Pakistan and Israeli nuke build up some kind of nukes are bound to fall into the hands of some more terrorists.

12. Then tell * and his gaggle of goons to resign!
A defensive stance is good.

An offensive stance only incites fear. And fear causes people to do dumb things. And the wrong people will be overwrought with their fear.

And the Patriot Act has done nothing of substance.

..of TERRORISM because of the Patriot Act?

If I'm not mistaken, the Asscroft record is 0 for 5,0000 (here we can only GUESS how many were detained.)

ZERO (0) for 5,0000....with a record like that asscroft deserves the bush* Medal of Freedom for Conspicuous FAILURE!

The Asscroft Record of Law Enforcement:

1) After an expensive (over $1Million) year long investigation, Asscroft busted 12 hookers in New Orleans.
I am sure he studied the key hole peep tapes long and hard!

2) He arrested and jailed Tommy Chong for selling pot pipes. (Is he still in jail?)

Hey Crisco Johnnie!
Here's a picture to take with you!

You can RUN,

18. No, our biggest threat was Ashcroft! He's gone now!!!!
We have nukes! If we didn't do things to make every country in the world hate us, we wouldn't have to worry about who also had them. You olny have to worry about retaliation from countries who are afraid of you.

I think it would be great if all nukes were destroyed, but the destruction has to begin with the only country who has ever used them! Guess who?
