Why are they telling me to pray to stop abortion?
Every time I leave home I take the only route out of the neighborhood and alway stop at the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. There is the big ole 4 wheel beast - always parked in the same ole spot - with the big old red and white bumper sticker "Pray to Stop Abortion"

Why abortion?
Why in my face?

Why not
"Pray to stop War"
"Pray to feed the hungry"

What makes abortion the issue? And why the billboard in my face?

1. It should read, PAY to stop abortion. PAY for sex edu and birth control
Right, let's pray and stick our heads up our asses and pretend that sex edu, prevention programs, and birth control don't work.

FUND THE PROGRAMS, put your money where your mouth is or shut the fuck up. That's my response to the ANTI-Choicers.

2. And, seriously, why pray about it?
If God doesn't like abortion, he doesn't really need us to 'vote' on it before he can act, right?

3. Maybe you need a board that says

"pray to save a woman's right to chose what's best for her family".

5. I've asked the same question
I think the fundies think abortion is a "winnable" issue whereas "peace" or "prosperity" are unreachable ideals. I've got a few of this kind in my family. I try not to engage in any political discussion with them since it would be like debating a whiney, shrill child.

But dang!!

first they think they need to tell me to pray and then they are gonna tell me what to pray about......Arrrgh.

Ya know - they are the same family with the sleazy teen girl that goes around with her boobs coming out of her blouse - but she has the cross necklace on so it's all okay.....

I am for retroactive abortions. I like that take!
